Guest guest
Have fun shopping! For socks, I really like Double Layer socks. I found them a few years ago for the Breast Cancer 3-Day (they also wick moisture which was one reason I wanted them and they had pink ribbons on them which was even better but they make other kinds too) after a lot of people recommended them. I am still wearing VERY often the 3 pairs I bought 2 years ago and they've gone through A LOT of miles and workouts since then. They're starting to wear so I'm starting to look at getting more. They're a bit pricey but are very comfortable and wick so they work great for me! going shoe shopping!! tomorrow i'm going to go to jc penney and buy a pair of running shoes and a pair of crosstrainers. buy one get one 50% off so it won't be too bad on the pocketbook. hoping i will find two pair that fit. still trying to find the right pair of workout socks!!stacey
Guest guest
Glad you found some shoes Stacey. I hate buying them, but once I do, I'm so happy, especially if they fit good. I just bought some Nikes. I wasn't sure how they'd work, but they feel great!!!!! ~**~~**~Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Guest guest
i know it would rub and drive me crazy. they also seemed tight on the front of my foot. yeah, the inside of my foot bothered me at first, I even got a blister for a few days, but I knew it was because they were new. They fit great now! ~**~~**~Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.
Guest guest
Would you believe I work out in Crocs? My running shoes are 12 years old and have no cushion anymore. Everytime I go to buy new shoes, I notice one of my girls has outgrown hers (usually the 10 year old, who is now wearing a size larger than me!) or that dh, at 230 lbs, has destroyed yet another pair of $100 workboots. So I wear my crocs: great shock absorbtion, lousy support, probably of questionable safety on the treadmill. Tamara
Guest guest
bought my shoes. i ended up with two pairs of running shoes. one pair of adidas and a pair of asics trail runners. tried on a couple of pairs of nike and they just are not a good fit:( i also tried a pair of new balance running and they were ok but expensive. the two i tried on feltt right from the time i slipped them on--usually that means they are going to work. i like the adidas workout clothes i have so i'm hoping i like the shoes. i guess only time will tell. stacey > > tomorrow i'm going to go to jc penney and buy a pair of running shoes > and a pair of crosstrainers. buy one get one 50% off so it won't be too > bad on the pocketbook. hoping i will find two pair that fit. still > trying to find the right pair of workout socks!! > stacey >
Guest guest
michelle, the back notched part of the nike shoes feels weird on the backside of my ankle. i know it would rub and drive me crazy. they also seemed tight on the front of my foot. stacey > Glad you found some shoes Stacey. Guest guest
jen, i bought some c9 socks at target today--i'll let you know about how those work out. i'm going to try to find a pair of the socks nancy suggested-the wrightsock. this one may be the one you have been looking for: Coolmesh: Our lightest, most breathable Double Layer. Features 30% lighter weight than the Running sock along with a mesh panel across the top of the foot. This panel allows for maximum " wicking " action away from the foot, keeping you drier and cooler than other socks. Designed for all activities where lighttweight is preferred. Perfect for Running, Cycling, Hiking and Walking on or off trails. " these are not cheap socks but it may be worth it. stacey > tomorrow i'm going to go to jc penney and buy a pair of running shoes > and a pair of crosstrainers. buy one get one 50% off so it won't be too > bad on the pocketbook. hoping i will find two pair that fit. still > trying to find the right pair of workout socks!! > stacey >

Guest guest
Jen, if you're prone to blisters you might want to spend the bucks on the socks Stacey is suggesting. (If you already know this, you can ignore it but I'm especially posting it in case others don't know, when your feet are wet you blister much more easily... I found that out quickly on day 2 of the Breast Cancer 3 Day when we walked through a torrential downpour, no blisters until and after my feet got soaked, plus that's what they told us as part of our preparations.)
