Guest guest
hiya! well, i felt sluggish this morning and since it was c-c-c-cold and very windy, i did not feel like walking outdoors with the dog :/ i hope that he will understand and forgive me! LOL. i did let him run around free in the yard for the morning. hopefully that satisfied him for today. he will not let me rest tomorrow morning though! i will have to brave some more cold weather, snow and wind but hopefully i will feel more up for it then. so, instead of walking, i took down all of the outdoor xmas lights and put them all away. i resolved that i would workout this evening when i had more energy... im normally much better in the evenings than in the mornings. after making dinner for dh and the boys, i hit the elliptical. i really needed some endorphins in a big way, and wow, did i get them! i did a 60 minute ride, keeping my heart rate over 75% of max... most often around 80%... hitting 90% as the mood struck me. i rode to my outdoor walking tunes... having good music sure makes walking and elliptical riding go by very fast! 60 mins on the elliptical = 420 cals !! after that i did '10 minute solution pilates' with lara hudson, which i also really enjoyed. it was not too hard, not too easy... just right! so, intermediate level, id say. and lara is a very good instructor with a nice variety of exercises. she gave good, quick, form pointers and the exercises flowed together well. the very last segment is for flexibility and wow, did that feel good. she does a nice mermaid stretch in that one, which i always like. 52 mins = 239 cals !! (getting afterburn from the cardio, im sure) a nice big total burn for new years day! whoo-hoo! i feel great, im off to enjoy a cappacinno and some tv watching :*carolyn. Guest guest
Awesome job, Carolyn! I'm still trying to pull myself out of a post-holiday slump so I didn't work out on New Year's day and today I just did yoga. In time though I'll get back at it!
