Guest guest
Hi Everyone, So glad I got up early to workout this morning, heaven help the people who have to live with me if I can't exercise!! I was pretty much a raving b*tch yesterday since I didn't have my endorphin thing going for a few days (plus I was feeling generally hassled and p-o'd about spending half my weekend doing housework) Anyway, feeling much better now.... I started with T-Tapp Primary Back Stretch to loosen up. Amazing how tight my back gets when I don't workout. And, when I do workout I think I sometimes make it too tight as well. I guess I have to find the balance between the two. I'm thinking, at the very least, more stretching/yoga, although I am also thinking along the lines of fixing muscle imbalances, too. I think both play a role in my back/hip issues. For my short cardio I did Tamilee's Tighter Assets Cardio Blast - a nice athletic style quickie that is of moderate intensity for me. Then, it was on to back and biceps - nothing too unusual in this workout - just the straightforward back and bicep work you would expect. Tony's back work is different from other videos/DVDs because of his use of pull-ups as an option, but other than that, pretty standard stuff. A good workout if you really like body part splits. I've pretty much decided that I don't - I don't really see the point in spending that much time on one body part, I think my preference is to work the total body and to focus more on " functional " exercises - but that is just my preference. I don't really have a strong desire to have a certain type of physique - I'm more interested in looking generally good/fit and being able to do all tasks of daily life, along with some fun tasks, with ease, I tend to think the total body/functional workouts work best for that goal. One thing I did notice was that I have been underestimating my strength. I definately need to get 20's as I can easily do most back work with my 15's and I noticed that I can really up it in the bicep department as well. So, I think I'll see what kind of deal I can get on 20's. I'd also like to get some 25's sometime soon. I think I have 15 more workouts to go to finish out p90x!! Tomorrow is scheduled to be yoga, I can skip it probably, and go to core, but I really have been enjoying yoga lately and I find it hard to do it as a second workout, therefore, when it comes upin a rotation, I should just do it. I may toss in a bonus cardio, though. I think I'll do Yoga Beauty Body (Ravi and Ana) - I'm on a Kundalini kick, still. That style works well for me in the morning b/c it wakes me up. The hatha style I find more relaxing for a night time practice. I should probably do some ab work later today.....if I do get an inspiration to do more, I may do some Pilates/stretching tonight after DD is in bed. Take care everyone!
