I rarely get DOMS unless I take a week off or change things up. I was quite

sore my first week, but since then, not usually. Jello arms is good!

Most of the really extreme soreness comes not from going heavier but from

doing exercises you're not used to. If you're doing familiar moves, even

with a challenging amount of weight, your muscles won't necessarily be

screaming about it. So, for example, if someone has always done seated

machine exercises for legs and they suddenly get up and do walking lunges,

they'll definitely feel it the next day.

Your next bout of real soreness probably won't come until the 4 week mark

when you change exercises. Throw in some new moves and you'll definitely be

sore again.
