Guest guest
Hey, Dana, great job! We're the same age. I lose scale weight the same way...no change, no change, then a bump. I'm doing workouts from the New Rules of Lifting and the great thing that the book does is suggest a week off here and there. The author says he takes about 8 breaks a year from working out, just because of vacations and life happening. It really helped me think about my schedule--no need to freak out and wreck everything and eat everything in sight just because I take a week off. : ) He stresses that your body, your nervous system, your skeletal system, everything, needs a chance to catch up a few times a year. That idea was a great relief to me. One of the things that has finally become cemented with me is that during those weeks I don't really eat different than BFL, just because it's natural to me now--I take a few meals or a day or parts of two days to just eat whatever--and so I haven't backslid at all. A whole different mindset from being " on " a diet or " off " a diet. Congratulations on your fitness gains and keep up the good work! beth Dana Worley wrote: I had been " stuck " for several weeks at the same weight. I am a daily weigher (yes, I know...), and the scales haven't budged for over a month. This week, *miraculously*, I got on the scales Thursday or Friday and was down another 3 pounds and it appears to be " sticking " I bought new pair of jeans yesterday and I had to buy the next size down. Even those are on the comfortable to loose side. Woot! Once again, this 12 week challenge will probably turn into an 11 week one. I am traveling to visit my aunt & dad on the 14th, plus, my birthday is on the 21st. I'll attempt to stay " with the plan " the week I'm traveling, but in reality I know the auntie and I will be indulging in treats and I'll be getting very little exercise. So... a week off and I'll be back to another 12 (or 11?) weeks on I will try very hard not to gain back the 5 lbs I've lost this challenge Eating " regular " meals will be one of the big problems (maybe it's time for ESE? I am down 11 pounds since January 2. Woo hoo! Something I've never been able to do before, and this at age 45 (and peri-menopausal). Dana Best Regards, beth
Guest guest
I didn't workout last week to get over bronchitis so I can have minor surgery this week. I stayed on plan with the food. It was hard for my brain to grasp - that it isn't all or nothing. Anyway, I lost a 1/2 pound still and my workouts this weekend were really good. I felt like the break was beneficial to more than just my ability to breathe! On Sun, Jun 8, 2008 at 1:51 PM, beth Dimopoulos wrote: > Hey, Dana, great job! We're the same age.
