I had a referral for 8 treatments went through all the rigamaro billed WITH copies of the referral and authorization got paid their pittance. Now they want their money back stating it wasn't authorized been.... going round and round with them!!!... the military... go figureDr. A Caughlin DC CAC155 NW 1st Ave Day, Or. 97845 office fax To: oregondcs From: drjohansen@...Date: Thu, 12 Apr 2012 21:55:57 +0000Subject: VA referral

I have in my hands a generic six visit referral from the Portland VA addressed to my former patient that says "Please take this letter to a local licensed CHRIOPRACTOR in your community....

next Paragraph sates THE PVAMC WILL ONLY PAY FOR ONE EVALUATION AND (6) VISITS USING CPT CODES 98940/98941/98942 ONLY FOR CHIROPRACITIC CARE

No Kidding, this is their actual spelling! The letter goes on the itemize restrictions , and is signed by Molly Kok, Manager, Business Office

Is any body actually getting paid for these and is it worth the trouble to bill VA? I'm thinking just provide the service to the Veteran and forget the VA billing. Any comments/experience out there? Congratualtions for something, Ron. Hearing more and more of these coming along, at least one every 3-4 months now! ;'-)) Your intuition is probably right on .... except we want to begin blazing that trail of them seeing our bills and what they look like and what they can expect. I'd say mind your codes, put it through like a regular billing and see what you get. Send the billing to the VA Dr. Ron with a note that if they choose to not pay for your treatment for one of our honored veterans no worries because I and my colleagues of the chiropractic profession value his/her service to this great nation and my services are then donated0, no additional billings will be submitted.
