Guest guest
Hi! Today was yoga day - I'm going to figure out how to get my missed arms and abs work from yesterday in later this week. I decided to try a new one that I rec'd in a trade - it is called Transformation through Kundalini Yoga and is lead by April Bernardi (sp?) It is fair - not the best one I tried (I lived the Ravi/Ana that I did the other day much better!) April has a little intro where she talks about how she found Kundalini yoga through a DVD she purchased and she has been doing it for 6 years (as of the date of the DVD release anyway!) I'm not all that versed in Kundalini but I did find it odd that this one started with a very fast paced sun salutation series - I've never done Sun Salutatations on any of the other Kundalini workouts I have. I did like that she held Downward Facing Dog for a good long time, but the rest of the series seemed to move too fast for me. The rest was more of what I'm used to seeing in Kundalini - lots of active, quick, circular type movements synchronized to your breath. It was good, just not the best I've ever done. I do like the way Kundalini yoga loosens up my back though- which is still so not right - so it is a plus - that and I always feel very awake after I finish. It was a short workout, only 40 minutes, so it was good to ease back into my first official back-to-real-life day. Tomorrow I have Core Synergistics on tap, plus I think I'm doing Cardio X for some extra cardio - I figure I'll skip the core stuff at the end and just do the yoga warm-up, Kenpo and Plyo sections and then go straight on to CS. Friday, I'll do some sort of interval cardio and Shoulders & Arms. Not sure if I'll have time to do all of S & A, or if I'll have to do a " halfsie " . Either way, I'll consider my P90X week done at that point! I may have to tweak my P90X rotation a bit, as DH invited two of his friends down for a long weekend over Luther King Day so, depending on how long they stay I'll likely miss one or two workouts - but I think I'll just pick up where I left off and call it good if I finish up the " X " by the end of January. Then, in Feb I have no idea what to do. I was thinking of T-Tapp, but then Kathy mentioned Turbulence Training to me - here is a link to the website http://www.turbulencetraining.com/?hop=adviser1 I have to admit, I'm intrigued by this approach - it really makes sense and fits in with what Tony Horton has taught me through the " X " workouts, PHH, etc. I'm trying to talk DH into it, as I know he is frustrated with his lack of progress. He has been using the treadmill - doing slow/steady state cardio but has not seen much in the way of results. I'm not sure that he is up for interval work since he hasn't worked out very much - but the Turbulence Training does have a beginner program that I'm sure he could follow. Anyway, if I can convince him, I might give it a go. I think I would miss the entertainment factor of my DVDs, though - as these workouts are all through a book. But, I am intrigued and would like to give something different a try. (thanks Kathy for the enablement! LOL!) Take care!
