Guest guest
AWWW! Miriam sounds like a cutie. I like that name! is usually one of the only " s " Of course, she hates to write her name since it is twice as long as most kids names! So. how tall are you? I'm around 5'6 " (a bit shy of that...) My DD is tall for her age, she has always been 75% for height and between 30% and 50% for weight (on those charts). DH is tall and so is my SIL so I think will be taller than me. Oh, I e-mailed you a long response about fitting in workouts when your kids are home, but my computer froze up and I lost it before I could send it - so here is my " advice " in a nutshell (or at least what I do) First, I totally understand the need/desire to be with your kids all the time. I'm the same way. I feel guilty if she is home and I'm not devoting 100% of my attention to her. I know in my mind that is not possible - there are household chores to attend to, plus I work outside of the home (but also telecommute twice a week - and although I try to work it so that I don't have all the much to do on the days I work at home, sometimes I just have to do something for work....and it can't always get accomplished while she is at pre-school) - but I still feel guilty for not being 100% attentive. That said, if I *need* to get a workout in I try to pick something short (under an hour, preferrably something around the 30 minute mark), something I have done before and is easy on my brain (in case of interruptions), and something that i don't " dread " doing. I also have a mini DVD player and I will often either use the mini player while my DD is in the same room with me watching something on TV, or she'll watch a movie on the DVD player while I workout. It isn't ideal, and I do feel guilty about using the TV/DVD player as a babysitter, but sometimes I just need to. If I've been consistent with my workouts, I can be " okay " with skipping a planned workout if life gets in the way. My general solution to my issue is that i have just forced myself to get up early and get it done before anyone else is up so I don't have the " guilt " of taking away time from them to use for me. HOWEVER, that said, you will be a more patient mom if you do take the time to workout. I know I'm much better if I get my planned workouts in. Oh, and I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your first son. That is unimaginable to me. But, as you have demonstrated to me (and everyone else on this list!) time and again you have a wonderful ability to take something bad and turn it around. I love the way you celebrate his day with a family day for the four of you, when you do tell Miriam and about their brother I'm sure they'll feel a special connection to him.
