hiya!

today's workout consisted of a 57 min walk with chinook... wow, it

is so cold out!! 5 degrees fahrenheit (-15 celcius). i almost had

an asthma attack at first because of breathing in that icy air. but

i pulled my face mask up and that helped alot.

ended up burning a bit more calories than usual, because of the cold

air i assume. (335 cals)

after walking i did P90X Stretch with tony horton, which is 60 mins

long and a fabulous routine! a mixture of athletic stretching and

yoga, static and (what tony calls) ballistic stretching. however,

he uses the term incorrectly... it is not ballistic, but dynamic

stretching (arm swings, for example... and not bouncing movements).

static stretches are held for a minimum of 30 seconds... some

are held for a full 60 seconds. a nice variety of stretches and

the full body is done, even the wrists and ankles! tony says a

few amusing things, but he is not annoying at all in this workout.

his backgrounders are excellent... one woman is so very flexible,

it is amazing, so she shows more advanced modifications. the

muscular guy in the back holds back a bit so he can demonstrate some

modifications for the less flexible. another pleasant woman does

the workout as is. my core was a bit sore and i felt a bit of

sciatic pain while walking this morning, so i knew that a good long

stretch was in order. and now, all of my pain is gone, i have full

RoM and feel great!! this workout is highly recommended for

intermediates and above (NOT for beginners!). another 162 cals :)

:*carolyn.
