Great job on your run ! I don't want to run because of my bad/arthritic knees so that only running I ever do is on the volleyball court and that's more like sprinting after the ball. Do you have a running schedule set up? Jen Pink Pussycat wrote: I am flying higher than a kite! For the first time since I was seventeen, I went on a run. I ran to the Belmont Library and back (32 blocks) in 21 minutes without stopping! I thought for sure I'd have to take a break or get a drink of water, but I didn't! I kept a nice pace throughout, somewhere between jogging and running. I feel elated, and am soooooooooo happy! I remember now why I loved running so much when I was in prime shape; you get into this rhythmic groove and you're outside in fresh air and surrounded by nature and people out and about in the 'hood. It started to rain on the way back, which felt heavenly. I don't know how my lower body will feel tomorrow, but I can hardly wait to run again! I think next time I'll go past the library five blocks or so (so adding on 11 blocks) and see how that works, though tomorrow I'll probably do an upper body workout

to give my legs a rest since today is the fourth day in a row I've worked them aerobically. I hope to get fairly good at running over the next month or so so that I can start running competently with the club that meets at NikeTown after work on Mondays and Wednesdays. I think that would be a super way to meet like minded people and get a good workout in at the same time! Not only did this short run do wonders for my spirit, I also burned some calories to boot! They say running is the biggest calorie burner of all. I'm hoping that by adding running to my repertoire I'll soon reach my 2nd weight loss goal point for 2008, which will occur 9 pounds from now.
