Guest guest
Welcome Leena, Namaste, I love India...As you probably have heard by now, there is no treatment for CMT, but alot of promising research, I'm 55, but for Harsh, could be a reality soon, Vit. C, as I'm sure you've heard seems to help,I've been doing 3000-4000 mg a day and working my way up, it sounds like a small amount when we say mg, but 3500 is also 1/8 of an ounce, and 7000mg is 1/4 of an ounce! My main point to all with kids is excercise, excercise, excercise. Swimming and biking are great, I also do alot of target excercises, targeting the areas that are wasting, like squeeze devices to improve my weakening hand strength, and fire up whatever working nerves I still have, I walk alot, and even run a little on days when I can, I love to " sandwalk " , I do it with alot of concentration, feeling my feet and the nerves therin as I do it. I thought of Gretchen's water excercises the other day, I went fishing in waders and had to walk back through thigh deep water for @ 100 yds. WHEW! but it felt great. PAM, I can relate to what you said about cutting off your big toe, I have a 6E wide foot, and if I could just cut off my LITTLE toe... also the toe that turns the most...On a more philisophic note, I'm glad my Mommy had me, CMT and all, Buddha said existence is suffering, but I'm glad to be here. IT IS SO AMAZING TO ME HOW SMALL A ROCK CAN BE, AND STILL CAUSE ME TO TURN MY ANKLE! Hang in there ya all, sorry for so much ramble, and I'll try to post to particular questions in a more timely fashion, " I am only an egg " , GOD BLESS, and thanks Gretchen. in Plymouth, Ma.
