Guest guest
hi ! todays workout was a 40 min walk, followed by 90 minutes of snow shovelling. this evening i did adam ford's swiss ball basics (45 mins). i thought that the best thing about this dvd was adam ford. gorgeous tanned body set against sand and blue sky. this guy is very strong and fit, but lean and ripped... not at all bulky, as he was a competitive cyclist. also, he is wearing little clothing... a pair of small shorts at times i stopped just for the pleasure of watching him do the workout...lol. you can see a clip of the workout at http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?title=458854628 & channel=451746199 the workout itself was okay. adam instructs with a voice-over and it is well done. his voice and instruction are dry and matter-of-fact though. the music is low and is like wannabe rock music...lol. so, adam does 2 sets of 10 reps of ten basic exercises on the stability (swiss) ball. for the second set he shows advanced modifications. i stuck to the basic mods for the most part. alot of the advanced mods were hard! for example, at the very end, he is doing a full superman balanced on top of the ball ! adam stretches between sets, which is great. this was a pretty good rental, the exercises are effective... but aside from the eye candy, this workout just wasnt fun. adam's personality doesnt come out at all. :*carolyn. Guest guest
I agree with you on this one, Carolyn-- he's gorgeous, but he strikes me as " a beautiful android " in this one. In some of the other ones (can't remember which right off hand) he's working out in a gym setting with a couple of other people and has a bit more animation. Not much, but some! Great workouts, though. I doubt I'll be mastering even the basic instructional one any time soon. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, First off, you HAVE to be super strong with all that shoveling you do. I went out and shoveled the patio off for my little Chihuahua and I actually got out of breath and my low back started hurting (ugh) so you would definitely out shovel me any day. I went and previewed the workout you did and it looks hard. I have a hard time with balance on my ball and a lot of those exercises would be hard for me. I'll bet by doing this workout a lot you'd get super strong in the thighs and abs. Those one leg things he done are fryers on the quads and hamstrings. ~~Who's never won?
