Guest guest
Hi , Way to squeeze in a workout! I have this one, but haven't tried it yet. Thanks for the report! Don't think I'll dig the bootcamp type stuff, but I need to try more bootcamp stuff before I just say that I don't like it, lol. Sorry to hear about your weird foot pain! Ouch! Hope it feels better soon, and am glad that you already have a work-around plan if it doesn't. Sara > > I ended up having to work this morning at 9 (a very weird, long story but I'm not going to bore you with it, I thought I'd be working but not where and when I did, it worked out fine though!) and got home close to 12:30. As soon as I got things figured out last night, where and when I'd be working, I started figuring out when I'd be able to workout since my normal start time is around 8:30. I have to pick up the kids at school, take DS to his tutor and DD to dance and leave the house at 3:35 to get them. I knew I'd have dinner and help with homework afterwards so an evening workout just wouldn't have happened. That meant I had to put it in sometime between 12:30 and 3:30, including getting and digesting lunch and a shower after my workout. 10 Minute Solution Kickbox Bootcamp (Keli ) to the rescue! I have this from Netflix and previewed some before work and some while I was eating lunch and decided to do 3 of the workouts: Basic Training (kind of a fast tutorial with good cardio), Ultimate Buns & Thighs (lower body emphasis) and Fat Burning Blast (intense, bootcamp style). Overall, I liked this one. I got a good calorie burn from it (190 for 30 minutes which is good for me) and was able to follow most of it the first time well enough that my heart rate stayed up through all 3 workouts, despite fumbling around at times. She cues really well most of the time but does cue on top of the move often too. Unfortunately, she seemed to do that the most when she was introducing a new move. I think a few times through these and I'd have them pretty well because they're not choreographically intense though she does pack a lot of different moves into each 10 minute segment. Some of it seemed similar to Kickboxing for Dummies, which she also does so that helped me a little. > > Basic Training taught the basic kickboxing punches, kicks and other moves but quickly and put them into combos fast too. It was not a slow tutorial (not for me anyway). Ultimate Buns & Thighs was a lot of squats, lunges and kicks while holding weights (I used 3 lbs, seemed good for me). Fat Burning Blast has her wearing camouflage workout clothes, your first clue it is going to hurt, then starts out immediately with a burpee sequence she kept adding onto. You do a burpee, then while you're in plank you do various things with your legs and when the sequence is completely built you're doing jacks at the end and you do a lot of these sequences as she's building it! I think I liked this one the best because it was the most athletic and the least kickboxing so I was just more in my comfort zone. None of them were pure kickboxing, which is okay with me but others might find it frustrating. > > I'm hoping to try the other 2 workouts, Arms & Shoulders Sculptors and Washboard Abs, tomorrow plus a good 10 minute stretch and my push- ups (doing day 1 week 1 again). The upper body workout also uses hand weights. My kids have the day off tomorrow and Thursday for parent- teacher conferences and I'm working Wed., plus have back to back conference shortly after so a workout will either be before work, if I force myself to not sleep in much, or afterwards and before dinner (much more likely). I'm pretty much picking workouts as I go along this week, without much of a plan but it is okay, I'll probably plan next week's rotation though because it is easier for me knowing what I'm doing ahead of time plus it is fun to do too! > > Gotta run to get the kids! > > >
