Hi,

today I did the second Tracey Mallett workout from her Quick Blast method DVDs. this one had three 6 minute segments of circuit training, then three or four (I lost count) 6 minute segments of Pilates/Yoga and then one 6 minute ab segment. The warm-up and cool down added on to this DVD are the same as in her other workout DVD.

The circuit training segments alternate a cardio move (often one that has a bit of a toning effect for the lower body) with a compound weight exercise. Instead of repeating the exercises, you do something new approximately every minute of the 6 minute circuit. It was definately an effective use of the 6 minute time frame and I did appreciate having the countdown timer for motivation.

The mind/body (Pilates/Yoga) segments were pretty good as well, in 6 minute you do accomplish quite a bit - and with good variety. The 6 minute ab section was done on the floor and contained traditional and PIlates-inspired exercises.

I recommend this DVD for time crunched days or days when you want a lot of variety, or really don't feel like working out (my guess is if you can get yourself to do one 6 minute segment, you'll end up doing more). For a regular exerciser, I'm not sure how much this one or the other DVD in the series will add to/improve your fitness level - but they are definately good "maintenance" routines and good for starting back up after a lay off from exercise. I do have mild DOMS all over from the workout yesterday - nothing debilitating, but I know that I worked my arms, legs and abs. All in all - a good thing! :) I do think these DVDs would be perfect for someone starting an exercise routine as you don't feel overwhelmed by the 6 minute segments. Although, some of the six minute segments, particularly the cardio/lower body and the cardio/total body circuits are pretty tough and I'm not sure how someone, who was

pretty sedentary would be able to get through them - they had me huffing and puffing. I may pull these out again for next week!Tomorrow I'm either going to do one of Tracey's Renew You workouts or one of her "Superbody" workouts.

Take care!Donna
