thanks, was it the Walthamstow one?

did you have a dr to guide you or you just arranged with them directly?

we are considering it at the moment, just have to figure out the

logistics...

Hi Natasha

I did 20 dives at 16 feet at Walthamstow (0). Later on we went dipper at 24 feet. I also have used Southwick. You ring them directly; go in the MS site to get their details. There are a few of MS Centre licensed to do children. I rang Professor team in Scotland and they sent me lots of material on Oxygen Therapy and also supplied me with a list of places in the UK that are licensed to do Oxygen therapy in children. Their telephone number there is 01382 632 080, I talked to Kinnear - Professor assistant.

I did the Oxygen mostly because I read loads about the effectiveness of treating of yeast/ bacteria with it. My son can only eat a hand fool of things, he reacts to everything. Unfortunately, it did not help at all with that. But many, many parents have reported improvement with yeast after doing 20 sections. Professor team advice parents to do a block of 20 sections as close as possible (5/6 times a week) , then do a maintenance of once a week (or every two weeks). Dr MCCandles book talks about doing a block of 40. It is very hard going. In Scotland they allow you to take a DVD player in. We managed to do the treatment block twice, one block of 40 and one of 25 (the second one not so concentrated). The MS centre in Southwick has produced a little leaflet about what things you can do to prepare your autistic child to Oxygen treatment (tel 01273 594484). It is hard work. But it's like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get, some kids improve greatly in fine motor skills, other speak for the first time, other get physically better, interaction, for us the improvement was more at a cognitive level. I have read that if you keep doing it, you keep seen improvements; it is like pealing an onion. Like everything, kids are different and respond differently.

I wish you good luck. If you go ahead with it, I would love to know the outcome. I would also recommend you to do AIT just before starting Oxygen Therapy, if you can afford. There is a new DAN doctor in London (Dr Asha) that is starting to do AIT, We did ours in the Soud and Learning Centre. I have heard that her prices are cheaper. I don't know how much she charges. I am considering having another one in the summer.

If you have any more questions I am happy to share what I know.

Good luck.

>Hi Vilma,

I also have been thinking of doing Oxygen therapy and thank you for

all the useful contacts. It sounds very promising and it is very good

to hear your son has made good progress.

Did you see any negatives at all and has there been any regression

since finishing?

Best Wishes

Hi Sue

My son was much more interactive during the Oxygen treatment. We

rented a cottage for the summer and he was actually joining the

children outside and running around with them. Although he is still

interested in children, I think he lost that as if the children do

not want to follow what he chooses to play he just walks away.

Although I have read a lot about the benefits of Oxygen Therapy for

the bowels, I can swear that Victor actually got worse while we were

doing Oxygen. I know it doesn't make much sense because I have had

again and again about the benefits of Oxygen when tackling yeast.

However, that was my experience. I joined the Yahoo

group " HDOTERAPYFOR AUTISM " (type yeast on the search) and I found

out that other few parents have had the same experience. However, the

benefits were so great that all of us wanted to carry on. Many people

report completely getting rid of bacteria's/ yeast during that time.

What I recommend it that if you are doing it and notice that your

son's yeast problem is getting worse, to go more aggressively on the

yeast treatment (prescription or natural) to make sure to keep it at

a bay.

Where do you live?

I hope that helps. Good luck.

Hi Sue

You live very near to me. I live in Sutton, not far from Epson. My little boy went to Little Group, so I am very familiar with the Town Centre.

I started treatment in the North of London and you basically just ring them up, they send you some forms to fill in and you go along and try. In the North of London they do ask you to buy the hood (£50.00), so it is just for your child. You have to go in with your child and keep them happy. If you send me your email I canl send you a picture of my little boy doing the treatment, so you see what it looks like.

How old is Georgia?

All the best

>Hi Vilma,

Thanks for answering my questions - socialistion skills are definatly

worth encouraging!

Georgia has just had a organic acid profile back with high amounts

of yeast so we will definately take note of what you said.

Did you have to wait long for an appointmentand do you go in with

them?

I live near epsom surrey- where are you? I think I would probably

have to travel quite away but it definately sounds worth a go. I will

have a look at the yahoo group about the yeast.

Best Wishes

>Hi Vilma,

I tried to e-mail you - I am not sure whether it got through. My e-

mail is c.partridge2@.... I would love to see a photo of

your son.

Georgia is 8 and we have been doing bio medical for 5 years. Georgia

didn't go to the little group as they didn't think it appropriate for

her.
