Guest guest
I can't offer any advice about how to increase water but I'd like to point out that if you do get bottled water, aim for San Pelligrino, the Italian water as it's high in sulfate, ie 459 mg/litre. All British bottled waters are extremely LOW in sulfate ie 6 mg/litre except for Co-op's Fairbourn Springs water which has 45mg/litre. S.P is quite expensive so maybe every few days when you do not give Espom Salt baths but I think it's important to take as most children with autism are very low in sulphate. I travel through France and Italy quite often and was really interested to see that most of their bottled waters are high in sulfate! P.S if your child doesn't like the sparkling bit, then you can shake the bottle till the fizz goes. My daughter and water Hi everyone just wondered if anybody has any good ideas re getting my daughter to drink water? Sophie has awful trouble with yeast and I have been trying to think about how to cut sugars even more from her diet suddenly realised that she drinks only juice or rice milk so need to cut down on these and get some water in instead. I will still give her supps with juice so was also wondering if anyone knows where to get pear juice from as apparently that isn't as sugary as other juices. Thanks for any advice it will be very gratefullt received!emma x
Guest guest
Emma, I would start by watering down what she is drinking now/ Also I started my dd on water by giving it to her off a spoon, and now this is all she drinks, along with some herbal tea. Guest guest
I do something like this with Tom who prefers juice to water. Try upping the amount of water in the juice when you know she’s at her thirstiest or out of the house where juice is not available. I get White organic pear juice from goodnessdirect.co.uk. I dilute it much less when it’s got enzymes in it and I really want him to drink it. Guest guest
Hi Emma, I second what everyone else said, I had to very gradually transition from one formula to another by literally measuring 1 gram at a time of the new formula - he was so sensitive to the change! I think it took me about 5 months to transition 8 oz of one type to 8 oz of another but it was worth it. Just saying that to encourage you to stick with it even if she doesn't like it at first, it sounds like it would be worth it in the long term. Good luck! Guest guest
Most of the main supermarket chains carry San Pelligrino water in Ireland. It's my hangover cure. The minerals seem to help big time, but it costs a bit. Comes in green glass bottles. > > Hi , > > Is this water available in the UK. Guest guest
San Pellegrino is available at tescos for sure because that's where I get it. Costs about a pound a bottle so ideally maybe you should spread it over a few days specially since sulfate is not so readily absorbed in the gut ..but at least you'll get some in. These kids desperately need it. BTW, my Dutch biochemist affiliated with DAN recommended this water as the prime source for sulfate. I seem to remember something weird about Evian...the water over in France was blasting high with sufate but not the British imported water....strange My daughter and water Hi everyone just wondered if anybody has any good ideas re getting my daughter to drink water? Guest guest
We also use Meridian pear juice which we get from the local health food store and also through dietary needs direct online. Also ocasionally use elderflower cordial which we get from Sainsburys if we dont have pear - but is has some citric acid and sugar in it, so only very sparingly. We also started leaving a small cup with a little water on the side in the kitchen or on the table and he would drink it when he was hacked off with us for not getting him a drink immediately he asked :-) Good luck and let us know how you go, Mel

Guest guest
I would be scared of any non-organic juice from concentrate. Sally was talking about this recently. Guest guest
Now that's very intriguing - I've more-or-less given up wine because the sulphites inflame my psoriasis and make it itch something dreadful. So, do you reckon if I top up with a bit of Mo and possibly some extra sulphate, I can drink wine again as well as G & Ts? Would dandelion tea help, d'you think? Sorry if this is OT PatienceJULIE GRIFFITHS wrote: Hangover cure. That's a new one on me...but if sulfate is low in migraineurs, this might make sense. I don't get hangovers anymore since stocking up on Omega 3 fatty acids :-)))) And to make doubly sure, I slip a few molybdenum for potential sulfite overdose :-)) And to make triple sure, I swig down a lot of dandelion tea the hour before I go to bed. Trouble is, I miss the alcohol buzz :-((( My daughter and water> > > Hi everyone just wondered if anybody has any good ideas re getting my > daughter to drink water? Guest guest
Patience, Wine is so important to good health:-))))) Yes, try Mo at 200 mcg a day and see what happens. Theoretically it should work. I'm sure it's the sulfites inteh wine as rum doesn't affect me the same way....( and I know there is no sulfite in that). Guest guest
Patience, Another thing you can try is Thiamin. The sulfites will destroy B1....
