Guest guest Posted October 3, 2008 Report Share Posted October 3, 2008 Today was Week 1/Day 1 of the 100 Pushup Challenge. I did column 3 today which meant sets of 10, 12, 7, 7 and then max (at least 9). I am very proud to say I made it through all the sets though I think on the last one in the set of 12 and the max (I did 9) my legs were assisting a tiny bit (I was aware of it and trying not to let it happen). I do not know that I can get through the Day 2 sets though (10, 12, 8, 8, max at least 12). I'm going to try it though. It seems like there's a big jump between columns 2 & 3. I know I can handle column 2 but column 3 is really tough. I'm starting to feel today's challenge in my chest especially now. After the pushups I did 10 Minute Solution Target Toning for Beginners with Whitmarsh. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep this one but did the entire disc today and felt like it was good to keep both for the flexibility of it (all, some or one workout at a time) and it wasn't as low level as I remembered either (of course I was a bit fatigued from the pushups too). I liked better than I had in the past too (I never disliked her, I just didn't "connect" with her). Anyway, I think it is a good one to have for when I want to do strength but don't want to or can't take on Jari or Cathe and I can always use short workouts. I laughed out loud when, during the arms segment, she said something about going down to the mat to do pushups. I did them though. 12 on my knees instead of my toes. There was no way I was trying another one on my toes! I think I need to schedule cardio on days I do the pushups! I also did housework max, cleaning the oven and scraping more wallpaper. I'm taking wallpaper down in a bathroom that has been up since we bought the house and am finding the ugliest shade of pink paint underneath it. Looks really awful with my new floor, I would have been better off with the wallpaper up! We're doing DD's family birthday party Sunday and it will be the first time anyone sees the new stuff we did. I might have to put a sheet over the main wall in the bathroom so they won't be distracted by the pink! I'm working tomorrow morning, then grocery shopping, then making an ice cream cake and assembling a lasagna (to cook Sunday) and salad plus still trying to reassemble my house that was torn apart with all the work we were doing. DH said he'd try to do more wallpaper scraping while I'm busy with other things. I think I'll probably hold off doing day 2 of the pushup challenge until Monday, if I can do it Sunday I will but we've got things going morning through night so I doubt I will. Taking the rest of the evening off to make grocery shopping list and hopefully read some group emails while DH watches pre-season Red Wings hockey.
