Guest guest
Okay, so I did it AGAIN. I hurt my back and I know what I did. GRRR... I was doing a kettlebell workout (yes kettlebell) and my first time ever doing deck squats. I was in my third set and felt a sudden pain and knew it wasn't good..GRR.. Ths is the first time I have ever caught it in the middle of actually working it. I was getting tired, and I imagine my form was horseshit. GRRR.... Anyway, it was time for a recovery week anyway, so now hopefully for just the next 7 days I shall be baby-ing it. I hope it recovers as quickly as the last couple of times.... I don't even think I am going to tell my husband because I'm tired of him pointing fingers at my kettlebells! I just simply push myself too hard, and I know this. Just too hard not to :(Oh, but for what it's worth, I burned 406 calories in the 38 minutes I was able to workout! My average was 141. I was doing the iron core workout, volume 2. I was enjoying it fully, and that was the LAST exercise, besides abs Oh well.. maybe it will come around even quicker this time. Guest guest
Thanks guy, no I'm sure it's not serious... I tend to get the same injury type feeling when I do hurt it.. I'm sure I will be sore for a couple days and then slowly better again. I feel like a dork for doing it AGAIN though. Oh well, guess I now know what exercise my back surely does NOT like. (and I almost grabbbed a heavier kettlebell - DUH!) Darcy gosh darcy i hope you didn't do some very serious damage to yourself. take it easy!! I have bought the second but have not got it yet. I can't wait! I am hoping Santa goes on sale... every morning, his sale is the first thing I check! Darcy OK, thank goodness you told me. I just ordered the Kettlebell Way, so I'm gonna back away from the computer right now. Thanks for saving me from myself! Phew. ROTFLMAO!!!!! Well.... If you have " The Kettlebell Way " , I wouldn't bother with this one, as it's the same workout, but is doing it solo. In the kettlebell way, he has Beth chamberlin with him. I hear the scenery is better in this one... If you don't have " The Kettlebell Way " (first one), then I say YES it's an awesome workout. If you have the other, I wouldn't bother (which is the one I have). Hope this helps!Darcy It's in my shopping carrrrtttttttt!!!!!! Do I need this? You have this one? Oh my, you are too funny! That's about how I am. Sometimes I wish I didn't know!AND, I don't think AOS has sales very often..... ;)Darcy OH NO! Why'd you have to show me that, LOL! I'm not listening LALALALALALALA! I searched too, but you know what I have his book and DVD too! I lent it to my brother though... I'll check it out. Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)Hey, did you know that AOS if having a 12 day x-mas sale? Every day they feature something different. Today, it's Providence for $40 and free shipping... I'm hoping Santa goes on sale. It's the only one I don't have.. (well, I don't have providence either, but i do have the kettlebell way which is the same workout) http://www.artofstrength.com/OnlineStore/12DaysDay6/tabid/592/Default.aspxDarcy You know, I just did a search, and I can't find the exact exercise on youtube. I see lots of barbell variations, but it's a different movement. I have Pavel's From Russia with Tough Love video and book. That's where I learned it. Maybe I can make a copy of the instructions for you. That's essentially right. You are keeping your feet on the ground, but instead of rolling to the floor, you're sitting back onto a box, you let yourself rock back to where your heels lift off the ground, and then you go back forward onto your heels and stand up. a-ha.. so you aren't going down as low?? Good call.. I'm going to youtube it.Darcy They're like deck squats, except that instead of rolling back onto the floor, you're rolling back onto a step. I like to use a club step with 3 or 4 risers. Now you tell me!! Ha..ha.. just kidding I don't know what box squats are.. I'll have to check them out :)Darcy Ahhh, that's too bad! I can only do box squats. It's not as intense as deck squats, but it feels much mor controlled. I hope it heals fast! There are at a few KB exercises I avoid. That's one. Windmills are another.
