Guest guest
This is the first year in the years I can remember celebrating the holidays (that goes back to pretty much 5 years old) that I did not stuff myself on the festivities. I had two bites of pie instead of two pies. I had one serving of everything, instead of two plates (coming back for " seconds " later). It wasn't that the food was not there, it was and it was all so very, very good - but my body and I are apparently in sync on this whole weight loss thing and my stomach said " that's enough " and I actually dumped a little food off my very first plate!! I'm so proud I almost wept when I thought about how good it felt not to feel bloated and icky all afternoon. Happy New Year to all us gals who are taking our life into our own hands, and for all those who need help - girl, I'm here! Talk to me. sapphirenut@... sapphirenut on Twitter
Guest guest
Congrats -- likewise, I was duely noted as " not eating very much " but couldn't really say that that 'southern cooking' hurts my stomach. It's just not the stuff I traditionally eat while I'm at home. I'm proud that I packed my oatmeal and brown rice and have eaten that pretty much every day that I've been here (going on a week already). Guest guest
The south is a simply wretched place for a woman's weight. If you're fatty fat fat then other people are going to think that you're a lazy, redneck slob that doesn't have any self respect. If you're a super model then people are going to think you have an eating disorder and pity you and offer you cookies. When you go to a restaurant and you SEE a bucket of lard ON THE COUNTER where the food is prepared, it will lend you to believe that whatever you're going to get from the joint is NOT going to be approved BFL consumables. That's why I prefer to eat at home. At least that way I know what I'm getting and know where it came from (at least for the most part). I have fallen in love with sugar snap peas! OMG those things are soooooo good right out of the package. The little packages are like $2.00 at Walmart I think and they're 40 calories per serving or maybe 100 calories per bag (2.5 servings). I can live with that snack. Plus there are a lot of vitamins that come in those wee pods and the taste is wonderful. On top of that, I love raw vegetables. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I have always loved raw veges. Now, honestly I've been in Little Debbie phase for the last few years, but moving out of concentrated sugarland, I have started purchasing bags of vegetables instead of a candy bar. They're more expensive, but better for me in the long run (and honestly they taste better, no aftertaste). The point is, I guess, you have to eat what you desire eating without undermining your progress. You cannot supplement that half a box of Little Debbie snack cakes with 4 hours of hard P90X or mountain climbing. You're just hurting your body. I'm saying that exercise helps, but watching the food intake is a much better start. Love to all!
