Guest guest
Thanks for sharing Donna - you're an inspiration!!Darcy Hi , I started with videos in the early 90's when I moved to the boonies to be with my college boyfriend. There was no gym within 30 miles of us (or much else for that matter!) so I bought a few videos - the first one I think was Lean Routine w/ Jane Fonda, and if you really want a laugh, pick that one up if you find it at a thrift store or something - Jane wears this full body fishnet stocking thing and these little boots. The workout takes place on a faux city rooftop setting. It is really funny! I wish I kept it, but when we moved to MD in 1998 I gave it away to Goodwill or the Salvation Army... I also used to run in those days, so I got exercise that way. And, eventually I did find better videos - Kathy , etc. Once the BF and I broke up I did go back to the gym when I moved back to civilization, but I really liked the flexibility of working out at home, so I also stuck with video workouts, too and kept up with them and eventually quit the gym. I actually didn't start with the FIRM until 1998 (Thanksgiving weekend) when I borrowed a copy of Tortoise and Hare from the library. I really was excited by them as I hadn't done much strength training before this time, so it was a new world for me. I'd say 1998 was the start of my true vidiocy, before that point I think I had maybe 10-15 videos, if that! Now, I have 100's and want more. How sad is that?! Oh, and as a testimony to strength training, my body is better now that I do it then all the time before when I just did cardio - and I was 10 years younger then! Take care!
