Guest guest
I think aswe get older we care less what others think and justdo what we want! I am, You know, I think you're right. I do think I'm still a very uptight person, but I do believe that when you get older you care less about what people think. Just like when we ate at this restaurant the other day. The food was so crappy. My dad was with us and he called for the manager and me and my dad both complained. They gave us our money back and free coupons to come back. My oldest DD asked me if I was embarrassed about complaining and then going back lol I said "nope" lol but I would've been been a few years ago (ok, more than a few years ago) ~*~~*~It's Tax Time! Guest guest
Oh, that is so funny Donna I have been the same way lately. I take Sawyer to the bus in my pajama bottoms!!! I tell myself the only one that sees me is the bus driver and maybe a car that drives by (out in the country).. I can't justify putting on a pair of jeans for a ten minute ordeal. And I'm not dressed yet because I have to workout after he's on the bus! LOL.. But, that is so me when I go pick him up from school too.. my hair is thrown up and I don't have a stitch of make-up on.. I keep my glasses on. I have to go inside the building for that one. Oh well. It's funny because we take so much pride in our bodies and work so hard on them, but then don't care about not looking perfect either With all that said, I do make sure my boys look good all of the time (well, except for Bryar's hair when we go to pick-up " bubba " , he's fresh from a nap and has curly hair, so it's usually all over the place - I try to keep it covered with a hat..LOL) Darcy Hi , You know something, I think the older we get the less " snooty " we get - if you know what I mean - I think as we get older we care less what others think and just do what we want! I am, I guess, an " older " mom and when my DD had her field trip to the pumpkin patch last fall I joined in on all the activities - including going down a big slide and jumping on this giant pillow/moon bounce. The 'younger' moms tended to shy away from doing that stuff (i'm also not a 'yummy mummy' - I pretty much look a wreck when I go out mostly wearing workout wear with sneaksers as opposed to a more 'designer' look!) Take care! Donna --- fitgrl222@... wrote: > I remember my oldest having the school skating > parties (15+ years ago). Guest guest
I've always worked with kids (I have a teaching certificate I haven't used) and love being the goofy mom trying to get all the uptight ones to join in! The younger kids LOVE having you be a part of their activities, it not only is fun but it also makes them feel more special, important and valued because you're willing to do what they like to do. The teenagers are embarrassed but they also secretly like having fun parents. I love the "yummy mummy" term! I'm the same as you! Me and my sweatshirt and jeans are much more likely to be at school with hopefully washed hair and that's about it! :-) michelle - skating parties, etc. Hi ,You know something, I think the older we get the less"snooty" we get - if you know what I mean - I think aswe get older we care less what others think and justdo what we want!
