Guest guest
this morning i did 'ultimate taebo'... this is billy's 90 minute workout which is included in the 'amped' kit (but i think that ultimate can be bought separately as well). there is no equipment used for this workout... is is just typical taebo for an hour and a half! whoo-hoo!! and (to me) it is reminiscent of the old live workouts, except for the music. billy uses a strong beat though which does help. billy sure is the king of kickboxing drills... but at the 45 min mark, he shows some of his personality by having everyone do some funky dancing! shellie was cracking up laughing, and i agreed that it was fun. i had to leave out some of the double-times and footwork so that i had the stamina to finish the whole workout. as it was i dont think that i could do one more knee-lift by the end! LOL. even with some modifying, i still burned 520 calories good workout, recommended! lots of standing abs which i thought was great. one thing that i did not like however, was the lack of cool-down stretch!! i was surprised that billy couldnt have fit a stretch into a 90 minute workout! usually he does a hamstring stretch at least... but in this workout he does a bit of tai-chi and that is it :/ i didnt have time to do my own stretching, but i did get into a hot shower and that felt great, :*carolyn. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn! Replying to older posts... Yes, the med ball worked very well for the balance ball cardio. It probably offered a bit more resistance, and it was nice to focus on form and controlled movement rather than trying to be careful of what I might run in to with my stability ball, lol. Yep, we stayed for some of Ted's concert. He's such a character! I'm not a die hard fan or anything, but I'm familiar with all of his hits, of course. And he used to have a morning radio show in the Detroit area when I was working near there. He was going on and on about how he was with all of his huntin', fishin', and trappin' buddies here in WI. Not sure about the trapping, but I imagine there was a lot of hunters and fishermen. Lots of smoking and drinking too – which I found ironic for a concert by Ted who never touches the stuff, lol. We sat in bleachers for about an hour, then walked around the grounds for a bit longer to stretch ouor legs before we left. We could still hear the concert loud and clear. Thanks for all the Tae Bo info!! I had no idea that Shellie was daughter, but I suppose she is a lot like him in energy, lol. I remember you telling me Marcy's name, then I forgot it, and then sure enough - it sounded like called her Marge in the workout, heh. Ultimate Tae Bo sounds fun! Any general thoughts on the Boot Camp Elite, Capture the Power, or Get Ripped series? I have a few of each of those and am not sure yet what order/fitness level to put them in. Yes, my minutes worked out goal has really progressed! I started with a lazy goal of at least 25 min, 3 times a week back in May/June, just to try to get re-started and slowly built up from there. Sorry to hear Chinook was getting in trouble with the cows! LOL! Bummer that he has to get tied up. Our backyard is large and fenced in for our pups, and we used to have horses next door. We only had the two dogs at the time, but they had probably never seen horses and would just freak out if the horses started running around. They got used to them eventually, but in the winter the horses would hardly ever be out so we'd start the cycle over in the spring. The neighbors never did much with the horses, so I wasn't too surprised when they got rid of them. Thanks for all the feedback and knowledge!!
