Guest guest
Just thought I’d let people know that we have seen a pretty dramatic improvement in Tom since giving him VSL3. Prior to giving it to him Tom had been unhappy, head banging and complaining of stomach and head pains for some time. We had found that being cold and ibuprofen had helped a bit. The VSL3 has helped substantially more and Tom is much happier and coming out with lots of new language – including lots of cheekiness, such as “I SAID no” when I ask him to do something after he’s just said ‘no’ and possibly the first exchange that I can call a conversation today which went like this: Tom (looking at a shark) “dolphin” Me “no, that’s a shark” Tom “no it’s a dolphin” Me “it’s a shark – look at its teeth” Tom “it’s a dolphin with teeth” He is still having pains but definitely less and his head banging is still there but almost gone totally. Guest guest
Sara, Do you mind telling me if you saw things in Tom that led you to trying the Vitamin K protocol? If so, what kind of clues did you have? And are you doing the whole protocol (we've done *most of it, but maybe that wasn't enough) Yes, Lara was a star! And later I was able to meet her son, which was like meeting a celebrity! I know kids get better, even recover, but actually talking to one and watching him wiggle around in a chair made me smile the whole way home :-) Anita > > Capsules from Dennis the chemist. Guest guest
Awww that’s lovely, Anita. all our kids are heroes – they have to go through so much. The first thing that rang a bell was that he was always covered in tiny bruises – from people’s fingers so he had tiny fingerprint bruises all over him. these would have been caused by very little pressure and, as soon as I put him on vit k they disappeared and didn’t reappear again. I also realised somewhere along the line that Tom was reacting badly to his calcium supplement. It was making him very jerky and also withdrawn. Also taking him off milk in the first place had very dramatic effects. He also doesn’t tan easily. I still haven’t done the whole protocol but the following have all been dramatic for Tom… Removing dairy (though now has sheep’s yoghurt) Epsom Salts baths Giving and stopping calcium (negative and positive respectively) Giving GABA (this is from Yasko but similar – sorry not a scientist – if I try to explain why I think it’s similar to the vit k protocol I will tie myself in knots but calcium dysfunction and excess glutamate are related, I believe) Vit K (bruises disappeared, increased happiness and alertness) Vit D (increased happiness and alertness – more than on vit k – although sleep worsened) VSL3 (most dramatic intervention yet – Tom’s going from strength to strength – v. happy and actually demanding of my attention like a NORMAL kid – sorry don’t mean to offend with this word but he’s nagging me to play with him! well some of the time. His language is surprising me every day) (we also do CLO though not 100% sure we saw an improvement there) SARA -----Original Message----- From: Autism-Biomedical-Europe [mailto:Autism-Biomedical-Europe ] On Behalf Of Anita Sent: 11 March 2008 08:01 To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Subject: Re: VSL3 Sara, Do you mind telling me if you saw things in Tom that led you to trying the Vitamin K protocol? Guest guest
Thanks for all the details Sara. They are very helpful. Try to get some video of all these improvements. People at conferences like to see that! Hint, hint :-) Congrats on all the improvements. Yay for Tom, nagging you like that! It must feel very strange but in a wonderful way :-) Anita > > Awww that's lovely, Anita. all our kids are heroes - they have to go > through so much. > The first thing that rang a bell was that he was always covered in tiny > bruises - from people's fingers so he had tiny fingerprint bruises all > over him. these would have been caused by very little pressure and, as > soon as I put him on vit k they disappeared and didn't reappear again.
