This is the 2nd time I've done the 30 minute version of this workout (the dvd also has a 60 minute version, which I've also done) but the first time was so long ago I couldn't remember what it was like, only that I enjoyed it (which I did this time too). There was, as I remembered before a little too much marching in place at the beginning but then she mixes it up more and adds in intervals of high stepping with big arm swings and jogging too. She also does a few intervals of lower body work (a lot of lunges and squats) that kept my heart rate up and raised it quite a bit too. My heart rate was mostly pretty moderate to low for this workout so not as much of a calorie burn as I'd like but the intervals made it interesting and I was always ready to be done with especially the lower body ones and go back to marching just about the time she was changing. Next time I do it, now that I know again what it is like, I can add more intensity to the quieter parts without worrying about getting fatigued too early. I own this one now, before it was a library rental, so I'm sure I'll probably do it again soon. Debbie talks A LOT and repeats herself a lot but it isn't annoying or goofy. She calls herself a coach and you are her athlete (I remember the first time I did that absolutely loving being called an athlete, it was the first time in years I'd really even thought of myself like that in the present tense at all) and does a lot of "coaching." Her talking is aimed toward new exercisers I think but the workout is fairly strenuous for a brand new exerciser though it is extremely simple and there is a low impact/intensity modifier too (along with a few others, interesting that it is a mixed race and gender group too, most looking very fit one maybe not so much, I liked that, you can find yourself in that group). This is a step up in terms of intensity from most Sansone videos but still very do-able for most people and can also give more experienced people a decent workout too (possibly with some modifications for more intensity at times). It was filmed outdoors and the scenery is gorgeous. The music, which I don't remember now, was fine but obviously not memorable.

I had 1 hour at home today between work and now off to be a Brownie leader. Did this workout before work.
