I got an email earlier this week from the yoga studio I used to go to (until my kids got out for the summer last year and then I was working 4 days a week all during the school year) with the new classes for fall. Since my schedule is much lighter now (and I'm trying desperately to keep it that way) I was excited about trying to get in for classes again but noticed my favorite instructor was no longer there. I was so bummed out and much less excited about taking a class there after all. Then I was looking through a local shopping publication earlier today and saw an ad for a brand new yoga studio even closer to my house with the same rates and noticed one of the owners was named Stacey. Same name, same spelling as my favorite instructor so I took a chance and checked out the website. She had her picture on the site and it looked like her but I wasn't sure. I signed up for their newsletter and got one this evening. It was sent from Stacey's email address so I took another chance and wrote her back asking if she was the same person (said who I was, when I took the class and that I loved it but life and work got in the way for me to attend for the last year). Anyway, I got an email back from her saying that is was her and that she definitely remembered me and had thought about me wondering what happened and hoping I was okay (she knew I was a breast cancer survivor, I wore pink ribbon socks a lot and she noticed them and we talked about it a few times). She knew I couldn't go during the summer but that I was really hoping to get back last fall. Anyway, my schedule is light enough to take classes again so when their studio opens I plan to try it out! The only trepidation I have is that it is very new agey on their website. (The other owner channels and stuff for spiritual healing and other things and has spiritual services available but she's not a yoga teacher...) Stacey never talked like that in classes like some of the other instructors at my old studio and that was part of what made me so comfortable with her. It was spiritual but in a nonspecific way, it was more the atmosphere than anything she said. Anyway, hopefully she has the same approach in her classes here even though I suspect they'll be attracting more people that like new age spirituality. (Nothing at all intended against it by the way. I love learning about different spiritual pathways but since yoga can be such a spiritual experience for me it is just not always a comfortable fit for me if any specific path is emphasized and I don't want to feel out of place in my yoga practices.) Anyway, I'll they're not quite open yet and they're offering 10% off their packages for the entire month of September so when they do open (hopefully by next week) I'll check it out for myself. I hope I love it! I'm so excited it is her! :-)

Thanks Carolyn! I looked at her website more and it looks like she has some that are intended to be spiritual yoga practices and others that are more "generic." I should be able to find things that work well for me no matter what my mood! :-)
