Guest guest
good job, ! And, good rule. Often, for me anyway, a " craving " is just my way of looking for a distraction or reward. I've actually started fussing with my nails as Kassia suggested in lieu of a food treat and they are looking much nicer. I don't do polish and I have them really short due to biting but maybe if I keep working on them they'll look better and the biting will stop, too! Guest guest
I also do this with cheats. Today I took my youngest to Mcs and instead of denying myself, I ordered a Happy Meal (hambuger and small fries) and gave him my soda. Honestly, I was really satisfied and the calorie and fat content wasn't much worse than one of their healthy salads. Kathy Re: since we're on the topic of portion control.. good job, ! Guest guest
I do that, two, Kathy! I always get a Happy Meal at Mcs and I try to have unsweetened iced tea there. Although sometimes I just want that real coke! Donna --- Kathy Vetro wrote: > I also do this with cheats. Guest guest
I like water with this meal due to the saltiness. I love the plain old Hamburger. I used to love Big Macs, but they upset my tummy any more. If you look at the fat and calorie count of the salads and so called low calorie alternatives in fast food restaurants, they aren't that healthy. I'll take the real thing and be happy rather than feel deprived. My favorite fast food is Chick Filet. Much fresher and really good tasting. --Kathy Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius. Hobbes: What's misunderstood about you? Guest guest
Good for you !!! I use both these methods too. I ask for a box right away and immediately put in half (not always but sometimes). The 20 minute thing is great. I use it when I'm not sure I'm really hungry but could be tired, bored or something else. Most of the time, I find something else more interesting too. since we're on the topic of portion control.. one my Dad always says to do is when you crave something, wait 20 minutes. Most of the time the craving goes away. Cravings are often fleeting. I applied that rule today and it worked! I went to Thai, and only ate half of my red curry dish and boxed the rest. At first I thought, "That's all I get? Bummer.." but after 20 minutes my hunger indeed was assuaged, and now I don't have to worry about dinnner because I have the other half left! I have a lust for Life and love to eat so this is a rule that helps me tone it down.

Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I love Chik Fil-a, too. DD loves it as well and we often go there - she and I both like the Cool Wrap sandwiches with no dressing and fruit instead of fries. I think they're only 410 calories so it isn't terrible and not worse than a salad with dressing. I also get the unsweetened tea here and DD gets milk. Our Chik-Fil-A has an indoor play area which is why I think DD likes going there (well, she does eat her wrap...so maybe not entirely!) Take care, Donna --- kvetro60@... wrote: > I like water with this meal due to the saltiness. I > love the plain old Hamburger. I used to love Big > Macs, but they upset my tummy any more.
