Guest guest
I think it's best to stick with the book and wait atleast an hour. Who feels like eating right after a hard workout anyway?? > > Hello.... > I am new here and on Day 3. Me I get up at 4:45; make it into the garage about 5 to work out. By the time I finish at 5:45 to 6 AM, I am starved. While the BFL says to wait, there are plenty of studies that will tell you you burn more calories the first hour after a workout than at any other time. So... I say go with what works for your schedule and your body (but I'm an uneducated amateur so what do I know? Dana
Guest guest
If the goal is maximum fat loss, follow the book and wait an hour. If you're goal is muscle gain, muscle gain with fat loss, or maintenance, get the post-workout protein in as soon as possible. There are also those of us who eat before and after weight sessions (feed muscle), and do cardio on an empty stomach and wait an hour (starve fat). > Hello.... > I am new here and on Day 3. Guest guest
Thanks for the input. I am definitely in the " maximum fat loss " category -- with plenty to lose, so I'll keep to waiting an hour afterwards. So far, so good. I'm on Week 1 and have dropped 6 lbs. this week. I know it's mostly water, but it still feels good. And I feel so much better getting my body active again! > > > Hello.... > > I am new here and on Day 3.
