Guest guest
Hi Jen,Ouch! How did you get that bone chip there? I'm so glad that you're on the mend!I'm doing much better. I think that my whole body was super tight that day because work has been gut-wrenchingly hard this week. I think I should have shifted to yoga style earlier in the week, but I was trying to stick to a program. Oh well! Live and learn! I know how you both feel about your feet. I had a sore foot for about a month. I had a spur heel, bursitis and a bone chip lodged in my ankle joint. But after two shots of cortisone-like medicine the pain went away completely. I hope that you will both be pain-FREE soon! Jen Subject: hugs re: the foot / my foot + food intakeTo: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 4:51 PM Hugs! I'm in the same boat, ! I hurt my foot somehow yesterday and wasn't able to make it to hip hop. Ug! Tonite I will see if I can do a and some pilates as a workaround. Tomorrow I'm doing back and core at the gym with my friend , which will be foot friendly. I started to journal my food today too. I haven't been eating well, as today's log below will illustrate. I can say with some certitude that I'm no longer vegan or even vegetarian. After 12 years of being vegetarian and 1.5 years of being a vegan I'm officially taking a break for awhile. I feel guilty about this and send a thought of thanks to the poor animal that gave its life for me to eat it, but I still feel bad. I admit the tuna fish sammy I had for breakfast tasted pretty good though. So far today I've consumed: calories fat item 111 3 breakfast bar 198 12 6 " tuna sammy from Subway w/veggies 40 3.5 w/cheese 68 0 4 pieces candy 290 12 ramen bowl 330 3 lots of pretzels 340 0 more candy I went to one of my favorite Asian grocery stores last night which can be fatal. The candy I ate are these delectable Japanese gummy candy things. You can't stop at just one.. This has been a good exercise. It's only 1:30 pm and I'm up to 1377 calories and 33.5 grams of fat for the day! Yikes! Tonite I'll have a big salad w/a few squirts of that salad dressing that's 1 cal per spray with some tofu. It's good to have an objective view of what you eat. I see at a glance just how much I crave salt and carbs. The good news is the day isn't done, and if I do stick to the big salad and have a couple of mandarin oranges I shouldn't go too far overboard. And tomorrow is a new day. I plan on journaling my food for awhile til my portions decrease and I make better choices again.
Guest guest
I hope so too! it takes so long to heal stuff like this. Does the bone chip show on x-rays? I wonder because I had a huge series of x-rays done. You know, the only shoes I can wear without pain are Earth Shoes. They're really weird at first, but they completely took the pressure off of the affected areas in my feet. Even after all this time, if I go back to regular shoes, even my $$$ running shoes, the foot and ankle pain comes back. I bought a few pairs of their dress shoes and casual shoes and I wear them every day. (Their running shoes are awful, though.) My podiatrist said that I could have got a bone chip in my ankle joint any time but jumping, walking etc.... My ankle didn't hurt but it did swell up. The swelling is gone now though and the Dr. said that sometimes the injections will dislodge the bone chip...I sure hope that was the case and that it never happens again! I especially don't want to have bursitis or a heel spur AGAIN! Guest guest
This is good to know. I had a full series of Xrays and nothing like that showed up, thank goodness. At its worst, my entire foot hurt deep into the bones. It was especially bad all through the arch, the ankle joint, and even up the shin. My ankle would swell up, and sometimes my toes would even move on their own! It was so weird. I think I had so much inflammation that I had compressed a nerve in my ankle, sort of like tarsal tunnel syndrome. This was my left foot. My right foot had problems, but nothing that severe. It doesn't swell anymore. I walked almost 7 miles yesterday without a problem except for stiffness. I just need to stop and stretch more often than I used to. I can work with that! I think it'll keep improving as long as I don't try running again, and as long as I avoid wearing running shoes. My Dr. saw the bone chip on the x-rays. I didn't even know I had it because my ankle didn't hurt. After the two shots the swelling went down and the Dr. said that it could have dislodged the bone chip.
