Guest guest
this happened to us after treating for parasites. No, it's not normal, with Tom it was ammonia. if it bleaches clothes imagine what it feels like on the soft tissue of your lower digestive system. I still have a pair of his trousers that have a huge pale patch on them. It's not normal, it's not even day to day normal in autism so I really would look at bacteria and ammonia levels, that can't be comfortable. Mandi - how do you zap ammonia? We did all sorts of things from Anju but not sure which treated what? Guest guest
This contradicts what I would have expected. High bacterial content in the bowels apparently produces an alkaline effect, at least according to the biochemist who did our blood, stool tests. There must be something else happening. >>Its standard on an Organix to say high ammonia is due to bacteria........... Mandi x
Guest guest
Hi all We've been trying to tackle ammonia for a while using Yasko Ammonia RNA drops, Yucca and, just recently, BH4. A low protein diet is supposed to help too and regular charcoal flushes soak up all sorts of toxins including ammonia. Best wishes Tim > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his dark pairs of > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts. Guest guest
If the stools are yellow and acid, would this mean that they are passing too quickly through the GI tract not enough time to be acted on by bile and alkalised.Dr Usman recommended something to us to help with more bile saltsChocolol )SP ??) or something like this, can't find my notes. >>Taurine helps this mandi x
Guest guest
when ds had awful runny acidic stools they would sometimes burn hisskin! not just red ring around anus but literally red burned skinpeeling off where it had contact with his skin before nappy change.definitely not alkaline. >>Same here, like he had been burnt and this was immediate not being left in a dirty nappy for ages Mandi x

Guest guest
Thanks for the reply Mandi. Yes, Norman has more protein in his diet. So this is most likely the cause. But can I also check does the high ammonia encourage bacteria or is it the other way round - bacteria causes high ammonia? I suppose staying on a high protein diet but using the other things mentioned here (zeolites, yucca etc) for the ammonia will not do the trick unless we reduce the protein. I'm interested, do the zeolites mop up the ammonia in a similar way to how charcoal works? emily xx > > > In a message dated 30/01/2008 06:46:10 GMT Standard Time, > mark.grabiec@... writes: > > Mandi > - how do you zap ammonia? Guest guest
Tim, Do you think the drops, yucca etc are reducing the ammonia then. Is yours also high protein causing the ammonia? I have tried the charcoal once before and never repeated it, as we had a big fall out with seizures. I think it flushed out Norman's 2 hourly dose of P5P which we rely on to a great extent for the seizures. I'll certainly look into the yucca and the others, but where do you buy the ammonia RNA drops from? Thanks for sharing. emily > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his dark > pairs of > > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts. Guest guest
Hi Eddie's ammonia levels in urine tests doesn't seem to be reducing at all I'm afraid. I'm hoping that the yucca and drops are at least keeping it in check and in some way countering the effects of his high-protein diet. When we give charcoal flushes we try and make them a couple of hours away from any other supplements, probiotics, etc. It does sound like you'd struggle to fit them in with the two-hourly P5P doses. Zeolite's an alternative that's definitely worth a go. The RNA drops (which are something we use but couldn't say for sure if they do much or not) are from Holistic Heal. See "ammonia support formula" at http://www.holisticheal.com/store/home.php?cat=123 Best wishes Tim > > > >> > > >> > > > Hi everyone,> > > >> > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his dark> > pairs of> > > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts. Guest guest
Steph, I know it is certainly shocking to see a a dark blue trouser with a huge bleached patch after a poo, but it is horrifiying to think what his bowels must be like.... It is helpful that I have some answers now to what is likely causing it and can do something about it. Thanks. emily > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his dark pairs of > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts. Guest guest
My NT son had this, but not , bizarre. Best remedy was to leave without nappy and use this talc powder from an old fashioned chemist in IReland, can't remember name but it worked a treat. > > > In a message dated 30/01/2008 17:41:52 GMT Standard Time, > neno@... writes: > > when ds had awful runny acidic stools they would sometimes burn his > skin! not just red ring around anus but literally red burned skin > peeling off where it had contact with his skin before nappy change. > definitely not alkaline. > > > > >>Same here, like he had been burnt and this was immediate not being left in > a dirty nappy for ages > > Mandi x >
Guest guest
Artichoke juice and angostura bitters from Tescos would do the same thing but it will have to be disguised. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I'm interested to know what this Chocolol is, would you mind checking this for me please when you have a chance. Presumably you haven't tried it yet. We use Taurine as Mandi says, but have not seen any change with the mustard poos. We give Taurine 2000 - 3000 mg daily, I wonder if anyone knows how much can be dosed.... Have to admit though that we used to have proper yellow poos but they are mustard now (I wonder could this be some kind of step forward). Dr Fell did say that we have the fast transit in the upper gut (from all the whole bits of food and the ibuprofen pellets that come through at the other end) but then very poor motility in the lower gut. So this in my unscientific head sounds like what you are saying. emily xx > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his > dark > > pairs of > > > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts. Guest guest
Hi , It's Cholocol and I think it supplies bile salts, which help with the digestion of fats. Secretin is secreted in response to acid in the duodenum and stimulates the bile ducts cells to secrete bicarbonate and water. So maybe Secretin would help. Have you tried homeopathic secretin,we use it.Katy still has days when her stools are yellow and float, not all the time but when she has upper right sided tummy pain. Love Sharon.xx > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > > > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his > > dark > > > pairs of > > > > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts. Guest guest
Hi all It's maybe worth mentioning that both acids and alkalis can burn the skin so you'd really need to do a pH test to be sure which you're dealing with. We've done quite a few liver flushes on ourselves and I often found the motions during them quite burny. Out of curiosity I tested one to find out just how acidic it was and was surprised to see a strongly alkaline result. Best wishes Tim > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > > > We have for a long time had DS's poo bleaching through his dark > > pairs of > > > > trousers, pyjamas and t.shirts.
