Guest guest
laura, sorry--i meant to tell you about the class in more detai last night but was stuck under a sleeping baby. it was not a full house by any means-- probably about 15 people. plenty of room to move around. i will try to describe the workout as best as i can... the warmup was about 5-7 minutes of stepping side to side, leg lifts, squats, grapevines and leg curls that went from slow to a faster pace then we did quit a few pushups a few light stretches and began standard aerobic fare with elements of kickboxing intertwined. some of the choreography was hard for me because i'm kickboxing challenged, but i did like a part where you would move to the right then kick, punch kick then turn back to the front and do jumping jacks then do the same on the other side. cool down was much the same as the warm up and there was crunches and stretching at the end. live instruction is very much different than the dvds!! they actually tell you if your form is incorrect!! when i go back i want to ask about how the kicks are supposed to feel and where my feet are supposed to be. my jabs and footwork are pretty pathetic--but i can learn!! stacey > > Ahem! I wanna hear all about class! (I promise I'll email you my nerve wracking experience later) what kind of cardio was it? How many were there? > > GX Junkie, > >
Guest guest
Stacey, this class sounds really fun! I love hearing about GX classes. And do ask your instructor for tips on form and technique! What's also great about the gym is that there are usually mirrors so you can watch yourself and fine tune things that way. Hope you can keep attending!
Guest guest
Sounds like a great class Stacey! (who wouldn't mind having someone correcting my form) laura: Re: back from class laura,sorry--i meant to tell you about the class in more detai last night but was stuck under a sleeping baby. it was not a full house by any means--probably about 15 people. plenty of room to move around. i will try to describe the workout as best as i can...the warmup was about 5-7 minutes of stepping side to side, leg lifts, squats, grapevines and leg curls that went from slow to a faster pace then we did quit a few pushups a few light stretches and began standard aerobic fare with elements of kickboxing intertwined. some of the choreography was hard for me because i'm kickboxing challenged, but i did like a part where you would move to the right then kick, punch kick then turn back to the front and do jumping jacks then do the same on the other side. cool down was much the same as the warm up and there was crunches and stretching at the end. live instruction is very much different than the dvds!! they actually tell you if your form is incorrect!! when i go back i want to ask about how the kicks are supposed to feel and where my feet are supposed to be. my jabs and footwork are pretty pathetic--but i can learn!! stacey>> Ahem!
