Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I can't help with the food thing but I know for , when he gets the acidic poos the only thing that soothes his skin is bathing him in coconut oil bath or oilatum bath. Both of these also seem to leave a barrier which prevents the burning the next time. We also use Metanium and Sudocream both of which help to protect his skin. Poor thing, hope you find something that helps her. Darla xx Or should I be bathing her sore tissues in something like bicarb ?i don't want to do the wrong thing and make her feel worse. Thanks for any clarification on this.Sharon . Guest guest
Katy's urinary ph throughout the day becomes high 8-9,and it is irritating her skin.I've looked at acid / alkaline diets but I keep getting confused. Do I need to give her alkaline or acid foods ? I've bought some cranberry, don't know how she'll tolerate it as her gut does not handle acidic things well .Or should I be bathing her sore tissues in something like bicarb ? i don't want to do the wrong thing and make her feel worse. Thanks for any clarification on this. Sharon .
Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I forgot that the last time that had such bad acidity, actually had me give him water with bicarb of soda dissolved in it to drink. I wonder if that might help her urine as well? Anyway, yes, is doing better, he's finally started erm, moving things along so he's a much happier chappy. Take care, Darla -Thanks Darla,I'll try the sudocream.I also bought some vagisil cream today, say's it forms a barrier and helps with itching and soreness. It also has lignocaine which is anaeasthetic.I think the calcium carbonate she has, is making the urine alkali. So I'm going to leave this off for a few days and see. Thanks again .Sharon.Is feeling any better ? Guest guest
Hi Darla, This is what has confused me,as for the past week or so I've been adding small amounts of bicarb to her water and the discomfort seems to have got worse.Maybe this is coincidence as overall she seems a lot better in herself with the little amount of bicarb,it's just her bits and pieces that have got very sore and irritated.I don't think it is thrush as there are no other signs. I'm glad things have started moving for and that he is more comfortable, poor little man ! Guest guest
Oh, sorry I thought you were only having her soak in it, not giving it to her - it's lovely when people recommend things you are alreday doing! Hmm, that's strange. I wonder if it could be a rebound effect then? It's all so difficult to work out at times. Do you think she could have a urinary tract infection that could be causing the burning? Hope she gets better, Darla x Hi Darla,This is what has confused me,as for the past week or so I've been adding small amounts of bicarb to her water and the discomfort seems to have got worse.Maybe this is coincidence as overall she seems a lot better in herself with the little amount of bicarb,it's just her bits and pieces that have got very sore and irritated.I don't think it is thrush as there are no other signs.I'm glad things have started moving for and that he is more comfortable, poor little man !BW Sharon.
