Guest guest
I appreciate your kind thoughts, and more importantly I appreciate your correction regarding Colorado, a place I love, second to Montana (Glacier National Park). With the bad press about Ted Haggard and the constant reports that Colorado springs had become the " evangelical vatican " , its good to hear from someone with " boots on the ground " ! I've asked for a reply from the transformation.com board administrator, mainly because I would like to create a " home " there rather than somewhere like MySpace, yet, without knowing what it was I might have done, I find it hard to put in the work and effort to express myself and who I am, to then have it trashed without a word, reprimand or notice. I shared this with my wife, and she speculates the following (these are not my thoughts they are her's). Since I was a division one athlete at a well known school, as well as a National Team (the one the olympic team is drawn from)member, my experience has a bit more gravitas than the average blogger. In pointing out that I don't take supplements, I was essentially harpooning their efforts to make more money selling these new, all natural, supplements, because, that's where the real money is. I don't know if I agree with this, as its a bit of a cynical way of looking at it. Although its hard to refute that America is the home of Capitalism, often over everything else. I'll let that thought sit, and come back to it in my own time. I'm not sure. Understand, all of you kind souls that take the time to read this, that it does nothing to impede my progress. Due to my past athletic experiences, scenarios like this typically fill me up with more " I'll show them! " and makes me work even harder. Getting back to the core of why we are all here, we've chosen to make a change in our lives for the better, we've chosen to be determined, but sometimes not perfect, and we've chosen to support those around us in their trials and tribulations as they suffer along the same path that leads us to a healthier life that (deep breath)ends the suffering and leads to more fulfillment and appreciation of all that our lives have to offer. Life is about people, plain and simple. People, friends, family, are what make life worth living. I consider those here, part of my " family " even if I don't always spend time here. I'll always be here to answer others, and help in any way I can. Heck, I posted a BFL journal some time ago that's easy to print and bind! I'm no great success story, I haven't lost countless pounds like so many of you here. But I try my best, and that's all that each of us can do - find it in ourselves to get up each day and make our lives just that much better than they were the day before. Sorry, stepping down NOW from the soapbox.... > > Living in Denver and not being evangelical I would say Colorado is just > as diverse as most other big cities on religions and views.
