Guest guest
hiya! this morning i walked the dog for 65 mins - 320 cals it was cold (-10 cel.) but sunny and not windy. so it was a nice walk. this evening i did denise austin 'core complete' which consists of 5 segments using the stability ball. the warmup is 5 mins, core+upper body is 15 mins, core+legs is 15 mins, core+buns is 15 mins, finally a medley of clips from the previous workouts is put together for 18 mins. i liked the workout, it had a good variety of exercises and difficulty of moves. denise demonstrated three variations for some of them. there was some repetition though between the segments... i think that crunches are in each one, for example. and i couldnt bear to finish the last segment that repeated a bunch of stuff. the workout was not hard -- i rate it intermediate if you do the whole thing for a 70 min workout. and while i enjoyed the variety, denise didnt do many reps of anything. her cueing was bad and while ive done quite a few ball workouts, i found that, for a few things, i was just figuring out/getting into the exercise and the set would be almost done. also i would miss reps getting positioned at times because denise moves along quickly... you need to sit on the ball, then move to laying for a different exercise, then back up to standing for something else. grrrr. so there were times when the workout didnt flow quite well. also, i was surprised that denise did not include a stretch segment... she is usually pretty good at that. she did do some quick stretches throughout the workout, but not enough for me. as for denise... well, i find her easier to take in her sculpting workouts than her cardio. she was still kind of annoying but i didnt feel like strangling her at the end. however, my dvd player had the subtitles turned on and i couldnt get it turned off, so i was stuck with double the denise! eek! my player did that on another denise dvd too...hmmm. so this workout was 58 mins for me and 238 cals i surpassed my goal of a daily 500 cal burn :*carolyn.
