Guest guest
Dear Emma My complete sympathy/empathy and thoughts are totally with you – We had our Annual Review this morning and the word that springs to mind is BRUTAL. I finally broke down in tears in the meeting and for the first time the Ed Psych sat up and started to listen, Please, please make an appointment to go and see your MP about it. They really need to know how dangerously demoralizing (at best) interface with the very services designed to help and support are children are – at worst they are damaging, despair inducing and desperate – and worse. DON’T GIVE UP WHATEVER YOU DO WE ARE ALL HERE TO HELP AND SUPPORT YOU Where do you live, and I will try and work out who your MP is – write a non emotional letter (as if!) but try, and state the facts – I am happy to try and edit the letter for you if that would help, you clearly have a huge amount going on. Our MPs need to know that there is a systematic system of abuse of parents of autistic children being perpetrated on a grand scale (ok, who’s being emotional now!!) and I will put it more blandly - of course. If you possibly can go and see your MP, then he can’t delegate a standard response to you. In the meantime, a big, big hug. This situation is intolerable, and it cannot be allowed to continue. We are working so hard to change perceptions, and we will succeed. Alison
