Guest guest
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_skill This reminded me that nursery age children do lots of threading (beads etc) and also sewing (with huge needles). Is he OK with everything except pencil grip? How about doing up buttons or jigsaw puzzles? Sally
Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, will definitely try them out. And phone for an OT referral. He is 4.3 now. Good body muscle tone overall, and quite strong etc no problems in that area. Now that you said it Sally, I think he is avoidant of many things that would require good grip and fine coordination (so maybe not a hand-muscle issue here, but fine tuning the coordination?). Jigsaws are fine, but the only other thing he likes is scissors, although does not hold them well at all...
