Hi Zoe,

Waitrose around here has started carrying Libby's pumpkin in a tin (it's 100% pumpkin, that's all). The stock is usually highest around Thanksgiving but they now carry it year round. I don't know if you can check a Waitrose near you..it's quite tasty! Waitrose also sell cubes of squash frozen but I can't remember which one it is, I think it may be butternut but that's worth checking anyway.

Best wishes,

Darla

Does anybody know where I might be able to get hold of pumpkin, and acorn squash - fresh, frozen or tinned (if such a thing exists)Both are low oxalate and I need a topping (thats not cauliflower) in place of mash. Thanks to anyone who can help.Zoe

Thanks Darla, thats really helpful. We have Ocado (sp?) deliveries

here - I think that is the Waitrose chain? I will google it.

Cant do butternut squash unfortunately due to oxalates :(

Thanks again

I just looked on Wikipedia and there are photos of acorn squash and

butternut squash - they're not the same...........I've never seen an

acorn squash before.

Anyway, that made me go and check butternut squash on the LOD web

site food list and it just has a dash next to it with no explanation

of what the dash means!!

I suspect it either means its not been tested or that oxalates are

negligible............anyone enlighten me? It will be a massive

plus if b'nut is diet legal.....

I have seen acorn squash a few times in large Sainsbury supermarkets,

also several times in frui & veg shops (needs to be one that has wide

range of stuff... you could ask your local one about when they are in

season and likely to be in..)

Dear Zoe,

Dont know if anyone replied yet as I am only on Digest, but we can get these in Sainsburys sometimes even out of season. Also good maybe courgette and turnip/swede (I remember carrot was a nono!) are they low oxalate?
