Guest guest
Great job ! This one has a dread factor for me. It fries me!Darcy This morning I did Pyramid Upper Body. I skipped the abs. Chest – Flies & Bench Press 12/15/20 Back - Pullovers 15/20/25Back – Double Arm Row 15/20/25 Shoulders 3/5/7Triceps: Kickbacks 3/5/7 Overhead Press 12/15/20 Biceps 8/10/12 For some reason I can't seem to go up in weight on anything, especially the biceps, that one gets me every time. As many times as I've done this workout you would think I could increase in weight on something. Maybe if I done the workout every other day for a couple of months I could, I don't know. I do know that Cathe didn't start out going with 12/15/20 on the biceps. I love this routine because my entire upper body feels totally worked. Guest guest
I think I'll recheck my fiber intake. I think it is good but I've changed some of the things I regularly eat so maybe it isn't as good anymore. Tib pulls sound like they really would start burning!! Thanks for explaining that to me! Re: Tuesday workout In a message dated 3/4/2008 8:27:35 PM Eastern Standard Time, nancydewolfsbcglobal (DOT) net writes: The results on your weight with less cardio is very interesting and that you're seeing wonderful changes in your body! I wouldn't have expected that either I also looked at my food journal and I have really upped my fiber. I just watched Dr Oz on Oprah and he was talking about how women need 25 grams a day. That's a lot! He also said its a great way to loose weight. I checked and I've been getting 18+ grams so I'm wondering if that hasn't played a role. Tib pulls are sitting straight up with your legs straight out. You sit a stability ball on the top of your feet and flex your feet in while holding the ball from moving off the top of your feet. Once you start doing a lot of reps they do start burning. You start feeling it in your shins. ~~ It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms and advice on AOL Money Finance. Guest guest
Hi Anne, I picked up one of his workouts from Goodwill, too. It's called AM/PM workouts, I think. It has 4 workouts on it. I previewed it not too long ago and couldn't agree with your more!! His form on lunges made me CRINGE. His knees were SOOO far past his toes, and he seemed to be doing it on purpose, and trying to demonstrate it that way! Aside from that, I also think the workouts seem okay. Traditional weight training stuff, which I like a lot. And in my video he's working out in a small home gym, which I found kind of funny. I was like, well - my workout area is bigger than his, so I shouldn't have any space issues with this one, lol. great job on adapting to the workout and needing heavier weights! Sara > > I decided to do one of my thrift shop scores today--45 minute fat burning workout with Basedow. I think I've got a new pet peeve- -workout DVDs that don't tell you what equipment you need on the cover. Until I actually played the DVD, I didn't know it required an incline bench. Oh, I managed, using my long step and modifying some of the exercises, but really, an incline bench is _not_ something everyone has in their home. The other thing, and this could be serious, is that the way he does squats and lunges will tear up knees. He goes way down, toes are ridiculously past the toes. I knew better, but a beginner might not. It's weird, because it's only a couple years old and you'd think he'd know better. I do like the scenery on this and he's a very calm instructor, which I like, so I'll probably keep it, in spite of the flaws. I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner, though. > > I also discovered that it's time for me to buy heavier weights! Guest guest
I think he _is_ doing it on purpose! At one point he even said " you should be feeling this in your knees " ! Um, not if I'm doing lunges and squats properly, I shouldn't. Too funny about the little home gym! In this one, he's outdoors somewhere in upstate New York. In the workout you have, does he warm up at all? In mine, a screen just pops up telling you to warm up. Guest guest
Hi Anne, I don't know if he warms up in my video. I previewed in on my portable dvd player, and fast forwarded to the exercises part. Sara > > I think he _is_ doing it on purpose! Guest guest
Thanks . You did 30 straight right in a row. I did NOT. Heck, I only made it to 20 in a row before I took my first break... you did fantastic.Darcy I did my 100 push-ups today as well. my little 30 pushups doesn't look so good after hearing 100. Glad you enjoyed your trip AND that you got to workout. ~**~ It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Great workouts, as always! Do you just fast forward the commercials when you do a workout on your DVR? I have a whole stack of Cathe's from FitTv recorded, but am afraid stopping to fast forward the commercials will annoy me, lol. And I also have some of the All Star workouts and some Sharon Mann recorded as well. I think I can transfer them to my PC, and maybe even edit them, but it will probably take a while! Glad to hear you back is doing better and better! Sara PS - Quincy's eye is improving and the doc hopes it will be healed when we go back in 3 weeks! > > Hi Everyone, > > Finally getting a chance to post - I did one I DVR'd from Fit TV (we get it again here on our comcast cable) - Ellen Barrett's Slo Robics. This is a nice blend of athletic and Pilates moves. Mostly standing work with a slight aerobic feel to it. It works the core and lower body very well. If you have her Crunch workouts or her Studio workouts it is similar. I don't have all of her Studio workouts, but in looking at the clips for Slim Sculpt and Fat Burning Fusion - this one is quite a bit like those, and there are elements of her Crunch workouts in there as well. I was going to tack on Ellen's Pilates Sculpt (or Zen Sculpt - the title is one way on Comcast but Ellen calls it " Zen " in the intro) but it looked to be a bit too much for my back to do immediately following Slo Robics (my back was a little tired and starting to feel stiff from some of the exercises). Guest guest
Hi Sara, I do ff through the commercials - it is easy enough during these type of workouts. I think it would annoy me in a true cardio workout though. I don't think strength training would bother me, it would give me a chance to rest up for the next exercise. I think it depends on the type of exercise you are doing as to whether it will be annoying to FF or not! I'm glad Quincy is doing well! Guest guest
I dusted off Firm Classics Vol 6. I had a surprising amount of fun doing this one. I had forgotten about all those leg warmers and big hair, LOL. I'm starting to crave lifting heavier, though. Happy Workouts,
Guest guest
Hi Donna, Good point! Though once I finish my class and some other things around the house I should look into transferring those Cathe's to my PC. I'd be tickled to acquire so many Cathe's for free - even if they are the shorted TV versions! Great jon with today, too. I'm starting to covet some of her newer workout as well - even though I think I still have a few of hers on hand that I haven't even tried yet!
