Guest guest
So great! I too come up with little mantra or mind games during my treadmill runs. All I do is repeat repeat repeat and before I know it - I'm done! My latest is " i'm a sporty, sexy, fit toned woman " and then I envision myself gliding through my run effortlessly with that fit/toned body I want (in some cute little running outfit!). Or I envision that I'm on a great trail running with a pack of other fit people. Even though I feel all jiggly, focusing on how I want to feel keeps me in a better mindset. I have other outdoor mindgames I'll share another time! Keep up the great work! I just kept saying to myself, " I'm working to get rid of these jiggly things " ! I made it the whole time and ended up really pushing myself. Whew, I'm glad it's over. What's your motivation to keep going?~NC _________________________________________________________________ Make distant family not so distant with Windows Vista® + Windows Live™. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/digitallife/keepintouch.mspx?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_CPC\ _VideoChat_distantfamily_012008
Guest guest
In general, once I start seeing some progress, I find it really easy to keep working out and eating correctly. When everything's working, it all just seems so *easy*. I also have a number of fun treats that I don't consider cheating, that help me out too (always balanced with protein or carb, as appropriate, so not to set off cravings, and usually only a couple times a week): sugar free hot chocolate, skinny lattes from Starbucks, Skinny Cow ice cream, and Cherry Coke Zero. When I'm doing my intervals, I just think of it in 1 minute increments. You can do anything for a minute, right? ; ) I'm down about 3 lbs and 3% body fat and my pants are falling off today, so something's working! --- weirdo_mommy wrote: > My motivation to keep going on the treadmill this > morning was all the > jiggly things on my body. Guest guest
This is from my SparkPeople: Yo-yoing weight loss happens like a sledgehammer. Huge swings seem to make a lot of progress but actually do a lot of damage. Healthy, lasting weight loss happens like a chisel. Every decision, every action is one chip closer to a lifestyle masterpiece that looks exactly how you want it to. Also, my gym is doing a cool thing. You get a sticker for every day you go to the gym. The people who go 12 times in the next so many days get entered in a drawing for a free massage. The next one is a drawing for a free metabolic testing and nutritional counseling and the third is for a free session with a personal trainer. Now that's what I call happy holidays! Happy carving! -- Sheila " So much attention is paid to the aggressive sins, such as violence and cruelty and greed with all their tragic effects, that too little attention is paid to the passive sins, such as apathy and laziness, which in the long run can have a more devastating effect.
