Guest guest
Hi Darcy, I'm glad you had a good workout - what does your back feel like? Is it sore? Is it a nagging ache? Is it pin-pointed to a particular area/region? Any radiating pain into your butt or legs? Any pain in your hip or sacrum? I'm really concerned for you - back issues s*ck. Did it start after you started doing Kettlebells? I didn't recall you having back issues before then. (If so, I think I'm steering very clear of them - temptation gone - I really don't need anything else to set my back off- although I have heard from different sources they they are rehabilitative - so who knows??) Take care! Donna Subject: Happy to report...To: "cathefans" <cathefans >, "exercisevideos" <exercisevideos >Date: Friday, November 7, 2008, 10:54 AM That I had a good, almost normal workout today :)I wanted to do strength so bad when starting out, but decided I had better not.. My body misses it though. Anyway, I chose Kari (again) Push. I did the 30 minute step portion, but I used my bosu thinking it would be less of an impact and better for my back. However, I'm not sure if it helped or not. It is a tad taller than my 8 inch step. I was kind of wishing I would have stuck to the step. I didn't like the instability of it either. Anyway, the workout was okay. Kari's voice isn't very loud though, and some of the camera angles were too far away. I did enjoy the workout alright though. It was a happy-medium intensity.Afterwards, since I felt good, I decided to do an easy strength workout. I had to. I told myself I wouldn't push too hard and would stop if anything felt uncomfortable. Anyway, I chose Cathe's total Body sculpting. I had never done this one, and I thought it to be an EXCELLENT 30 minute workout. It "touched" on all body parts, even a tiny ab segment. I heavied up when my back was supported, and I could. I worked my tris and bis well.... AND, felt almost normal and good again after the workout. Wow, what a mood lifter!!!! This is a workoult that I would surely not use "regularly" since I like to work a bit harder than this, but it was still a good workout and fit the bill perfectly. Here I am 3 hours later and my back is still feeling pretty good.. I'm so happy!! I think I will do a shorter cardio tomorrow and then maybe this same Cathe workout on Sunday. I found some stuff online that I am going to order to "miraculously heal" (LOL) my back, and I'm so happy for that too!! I'm going to take it for awhile even when my back is feeling "normal".I can't believe it's Friday already!! My son gets out of school at 1:00 today and I didn't even realize it. Thank God my mom told me, or he would have been at school w/out a ride home...ugh.. .Happy Friday Ladies!!!Darcy
Guest guest
Hi Donna,Well, it's sore in my lower left-hand side. My right side is fine. It does not go to my butt or legs at all. It is much worse when it is " fixated " for awhile and then I try to move. Rinsing diapers the other day about killed me because of being bent over. It's so hard to know exactly where the pain is coming from. I don't think it is my sacrum, but I'm not positive on that. I don't think it's low enough to be coming from there. It's not stabbing pains by any means unless I am sitting and I go to stand. Otherwise, it's pretty much a general tight-ness...super-tightness... Make sense? This is probaby the 4th time I've hurt my back?? I'm sure I'm not letting it heal 100%? I don't know. I heart it pretty bad this year where i was down and out for a few weeks.I do think the second time (last month) when I hurt it was possibly from figure 8's with the kettlebell. I think I was just going too heavy. I have since dropped down. I have also heard that kettlebells can " fix " backs too. I guess you wouldn't know until you tried??? This last time, I was doing nothing. I think I just overstretched it. Anyway, within a few days I was feeling fine again. And it looks like that will be the case this time as well. It's a lot better yet today. I will still continue to take it easy for awhile though (of course). Thanks for your concern, you're soo sweet!Darcy Hi Darcy, I'm glad you had a good workout - what does your back feel like? Is it sore? Is it a nagging ache? Guest guest
Hmm. it does sounds a little bit like my back - the "super tightness" - oddly I had symptoms on my left side, but the chiro says my right side is the tight side. I still don't completely get that -but I'm guessing if one side is tight, the other is overstretched and that isn't good either. Since going to the chiro the symptoms on my left have all but disappeared and the tightness is mostly on my right (I guess where it should be). It sounds like a chiro adjustment would be good for you - but I understand that it would be hard for you to get in to see one on a regular basis w/ your boys and all. Bending over killed me, too. Still does at times. Hope you continue to feel better!Donna From: Darcy Ledman <exercise.junkie@ gmail.com>Subject: Happy to report...To: "cathefans" <cathefans@yahoogrou ps.com>, "exercisevideos" <exercisevideos@ yahoogroups. com>Date: Friday, November 7, 2008, 10:54 AM That I had a good, almost normal workout today :)I wanted to do strength so bad when starting out, but decided I had better not..
