Guest guest
Okay, I have to make myself accountable, so I'm going to try and do a daily check in. Maybe it will help motivate me to stick with my plan. So, with that in mind, here is what I did yesterday--8/2. Cathe Power Hour--Most of ya'll have this one, so I won't do much of a review. It is muscular endurance and a really nice workout. Lots of compound moves and mixes of singles with slow reps. Mine is recorded from Fit TV so only about 45 minutes of actual exercise after cutting out the commercial breaks. Ab Attack--This is a dvd that I got as part of a CEC. There are two 30 minute workouts all for the abs. While the workout is sound, there are a couple of bad edits where you don't do the other side for some oblique work. Also, it's not a chaptered workout so you can't pick one or the other to do. You either do them all together, or you fast forward (like a VHS! UGH!) to get to the second workout. The break between them isn't very well marked either so it is difficult to fast forward. In fact, since I did them at two different times yesterday, I honestly think I did part of the first one twice because it looked like the break when I was fast forwarding to start the second workout. It wouldn't be my first recommendation for a CEC either. Workin' Out To Country Volume 1--This was a make up from last month. I didn't realize when I put them on the schedule that there are actually two videos to the set. They are led by Christie Lane. Each tape is about 40 minutes long, but there is a long intro and how to on taking pulse and perceived exertion at the beginning, so the workouts are only about 30 minutes. I just did the one, but plan to do the other today. If you are really familiar with country line dancing, you may enjoy this set. But then again you may not, because she was calling some things completely wrong. My son even asked what the heck she was doing when she said it was the Electric Slide. (Apparently it's back at some high school dances! LOL) While she doesn't give much in the way of instruction, it was a fun workout because there is a live band on stage in what looks like a country bar from the late 80's early 90's. She changes the routines with every song change which is cool. And at some points, the band members come down from the stage and continue playing their guitars or singing while doing the workout with her and the group. It's definitely not something for everyone, but fun to see the old styles. She's also very perky, so she may not be the best instructor for everyone either, as she may annoy some. Overall, pretty fun though.
