Just checking in with my workouts from this week. I thought I wouldn't be as busy since I'm out of school for the semester, but I've found plenty to do with DD's homeschool testing, training clients, and trying to make a quilt before Christmas for a friends gift. Why can't I sit still? Anyway, here is what I've done this week so far.

Monday 12/15

Legs of Steel with Gilad--Okay this is a funny workout. Its marketed as for men but I don't know a single man who would use ankle weights and lay down to do leg lifts! Not a bad workout, but nothing new from Gilad. Its very similar to his television shows, but focused exclusively on legs and glutes.

Power Yoga Strength for Beginners--First of all, this is not for beginners! It is a great workout from Rodney Yee, with his typical voice over and beautiful scenery, but beginners are not going to be doing 4 different versions of hand stands/balances like he expects in this video. I'm a yoga instructor and I sat there and laughed at him on a couple of those moves!

Qigong Wuji Short Form--This is a great beginners tai chi workout. Its slow, but all tai chi is slow. The couple who teach it (sorry I can't remember their names) give a lot of info throughout the workout. It is broken down into segments with them talking for a few minutes and then doing a voiced over workout segment, then talking again, then working out again. Somewhat artsy but a nice intro to tai chi.

Tuesday 12/16

Muscle & Fitness Workouts That Work--I watched this because it isn't really a workout, more of a how to on various exercises. Not really anything I'd say anyone here needs to run out and get, but it was nice to watch for the eye candy.

Tai Chi Innerwave--This was a cheapy I got last year either at the dollar store or Wal-Mart on their dollar rack. It wasn't worth the dollar. It was horrible. Slower then even the normal tai chi workout. The guys 70's porn-stash and afro were somewhat distracting. And I swear it repeated itself. Or at least it seemed to because it drug on forever. Definitely a skip it dvd if you see it somewhere.

Wednesday 12/17

Sharon Mann Yoga & Tai Chi--This is one of her In Shape shows that I recorded off FitTV. Not a bad workout, but very basic. Nothing really notable other then Sharon was calm. LOL

Sharon Mann Pilates & Power Yoga--I only caught about 5 minutes of this on the end of a tape, so I didn't see the power yoga part. The pilates was nice though.

Winsor Pilates 20 Minute Workout--This is from the first Winsor set out. It was the first pilates workout I ever did. I remember not being able to complete the 20 minutes when I first started doing it. Now it was just nice and nostalgic. Still a good workout, but not hard anymore after so many years.

Caribbean Workout Stretch Into Yoga--This is a dvd I got at Wal-Mart as part of a two pack. It has 3 workouts, Basic Yoga, Flex Yoga, and Yoga for Strength. I did all three. I liked the workouts, but they were all very similar. Mostly sun salutations with a few extras thrown in here and there. Not bad for what I spent, but not an intense yoga like a lot of people here would want either. But I like gentle yoga, so it was fine for me.
