Guest guest
Hello slumpville, A surgeon's atlas will show you what can be done as intervention. What I have seen there is uncomfortable, long term, and expensive. They are called hammer toes and are quite common in CMT. What I do is shower daily and make sure my feet are clean. Then, I use Jergens Aloe Vera lotion in areas where socks cover the foot and leg. I have worn molded shoes for decades prior to using an AFO. They are very expexpensive and can not be allowed to inhabit fungus etc. Consult the US Pedorthic Association web sight for inquiry about molded shoes. An old basketball trick was to wear dress socks under cushion socks which provides a slip plane between the socks instead of on your toes. Finally, it helps to have two pairs of shoes and alternate between them from day to day. EdM from NH

Guest guest
I had that same problem with my right foot.. To solve it I had to twist my foot sideways as I pushed it into my shoe. Also, loosening the shoe as much as possible also helped me. At times, I even had to unlace my shoe completely. Hope this helps,
