Guest guest
Mandi you posted about not finding it in shops, well same here - not a single jar in Sainsburys. stranger still Nutricentre not delivering - I placed an order weeks ago and still on 'to follow'... I then placed another order, another brand (which in the past arrived prompt no prb) and delivery note says 'item unavailable'. weird or what? better go to H & Barrett stock up if they have any. Guest guest
this happened a few years ago also. there was a shortage of bees inEurope or something and the price of honey went up. Then, don't knowwhat happened, perhaps we all stopped swatting but it went down again. >>I ordered it from Manuka.co.uk last Sunday and haven't heard a peep out of them or seen my goods............. Guest guest
huh, sounds there could be some 'legislative' chaos happening??? don't think bees would stop producing just like that! or even that importing goods from NZ would just stop, just like that. retailers would still have some stock left over, wouldn't they?? Guest guest
Hi We found local honey (the guy who keeps the bees and hives lives about 5 mins down the road). I think i read somewhere that local honey is good for the individual esp in the case of allergies... may be wrong there, i do have a habit of dreaming/ making things up!) Anyway the beekeeper federation keep a list of local keepers. See www.bbka. org.uk The honey we get is just filtered, not sure if you guys would want that. But it tastes lovely!! Costs about 4 quid i think Jane > > > > this happened a few years ago also. there was a shortage of bees in > > Europe or something and the price of honey went up. Guest guest
I've read somewhere that local honey helps with allergies such as hay fever bacuase the bees collect all the local pollen, etc when collecting nectar and some of the pollen gets trapped in the honey. Each time you eat some, your body learns to deal with the small amounts of allergens that exist in the locality. So when the air gets loaded with pollen, etc in the summer, your body has already prepared to deal with them. > > > > Hi > > > > We found local honey (the guy who keeps the bees and hives lives > > about 5 mins down the road).
