Guest guest
My right hip has been bothering me since my run Sunday and then lots of lower body work with Dozois Monday so I did 10 Minute Solution Tone Trouble Zones today but left off the lower body workout. I did do the total body workout since I figured in 10 minutes, how much damage could she cause to my hip while trying to fit in the rest of the body and it was fine. I did this whole DVD a few months ago and wasn't comfortable with it but since I've heard so many good things about Amy Bento, I really wanted to try it again. This entire workout is done with a resistance band (sold with the dvd). It went MUCH better today. I knew she moved fast through transitions this time so I was prepared for that and even though I didn't remember anything specific from the workout before, I didn't find it moving nearly as fast this time. I am also more comfortable with the band than I was then, having done a workout that used a band a lot earlier this week helped I'm sure. So anyway, now my review is much more positive. I especially liked the abs work with the band, it was interesting and challenging. I didn't get a lot out of the stretching with it but again, that might be more a reflection of my comfort level with the band than anything else. I think too that, at least right now, I get a better workout for upper body with dumbbells because it is a consistent, predictable weight. I'm still fiddling around with where to hold the band to get a good burn but not so much resistance that I can't use good form. If you like resistance band work this is a good DVD to have for quick workouts. Tomorrow is Dance Workout for Dummies. There's a tutorial that I'll probably do and then 2 twenty minute workouts. If I can stand the first, I'll try the 2nd. (I should say if I can stand the tutorial I'll do the first, it looked awful when I previewed it). I'm not sure when I'll get them in right now. I'm going to try and get up early but not sure it will work. My brother-in-law was hospitalized today, they think he has pancreatitis and possibly something else, he's in ICU now and they're trying to stabilize his blood chemistry (his ph is too high). We're all in high alert/stress mode. I'll probably take my 2 year old nephew off my MIL's hands (SIL will be at the hospital and MIL will have her 2 yo and 6 week old) for a while, there's a magic show at the library I am taking my kids to so the little guy will come with us. If I don't work out in the morning, I'll try to fit it in during the afternoon. I've got a workshop for parents at my son's tutor's house in the evening so evening is out. And, if I don't get to it at all, oh well.
