Doing my accountability thing by posting my workout. I did the express version of this workout (35 minutes instead of 60) today for the first time. It seemed to flow together quite well and since I've only done the whole workout once I didn't remember which body parts she ( Dozois) was skipping. This workout, full or express, is a circuit of high intensity cardio (high impact too with a modifier showing low impact) with strength work alternating. Each strength segment features a different body part and use dumbbells and/or a resistance band. The music is high energy, is her usual fun self and this is just a really fun workout. My heart rate was soaring during the cardio and stayed up during the beginning of some of the strength work intervals too. I did all the high impact. The choreography is pretty simple but of course, I still need more repetitions with this to really catch on, nothing too confusing though and cues well. I found the abs work quite challenging and a lot of the band work too. I don't know if in the full workout she specifies what she means by heavy or moderate weights but I grabbed 10s for heavy and 5s for moderate. Next time I'll go with 12s for heavy and 7s or 8s for moderate. She says a few times, if you're not feeling this, you need to add weight and I didn't so I need to go heavier next time. Some of the strength work involves compound exercises but they are also very simple and not at all difficult, even for me, to be able to follow right away. It was a great, quick workout for another super busy day!
