Guest guest
So, I have to start by eating my words about not getting as much as a workout as expected from Gliding Triple Threat! My glutes were SO sore yesterday, it felt like I had fallen down and bruised my butt. LOL I can still feel it today, but it's much better. I guess working the muscles in all those new directions was very effective. Hooray! So, I mentioned thrift store shopping on Sat was a bit of a bust. It was. We must have hit 5-6 stores (I lost count) and most of them didn't even have ANY workout videos. I did find a couple 's on VHS still in the plastic, but that was it! Another place had the largest selection - but most of the videos went with obscure fitness gadgets, and they didn't have the gadgets. And there were a few dancin' granny type workouts, but nothing worth buying. But, we happened to go to Half Price Books - and they had a very interesting selection in the health and fitness section! The prices weren't super awesome at $4-7 for VHS & DVD, but decent - and they had a neat variety of stuff you don't see all the time. I found a " Runervals " workout for the treadmill, so I was pretty excited about that. I also picked up Voight's Slim Physique (210 minutes!) and Kathy 's Lift to Lose Weight 2 (80 minutes) because they are both programmable and had so many workouts on them. I'm going to be sure to hit the two Half Price Books stores next time I'm in Madison, for sure. But, on Friday I did have a chance to hit some nearby thrift stores and found a few things. I found 2 classic FIRMs - vol 1 & 5, I think. Also found some FIRM BSS1 on dvd - 3 for $1 so I got those to replace my VHS versions. And, I don't know what I think of it yet - but I got a Bean Deluxe with the 10 flex. lol It was only $8, and came with the Bean, the dvd with a bunch of workouts, and this frame thing (the 10 flex) that has resistance bands on it. I had the dvd on while I was airing it up, and imagine my surprise when I saw the FIRM's Kay in the video. I don't know when I'll play with this, or what I'll get from it, but I'm sure I can at least get $8 worth of use out of it. The fridge hunt went okay. I found one that I liked, but I forgot to measure our fridge before we left (duh!). So we measured the one I liked at the store, and discovered that it was a few inches too wide when we got home. But, I had already sort of decided to wait on the fridge anyway. They cost more than I wanted to spend, since ours still keeps things (too) cold for now. We're putting on a new roof in a few months, so I'd rather get that taken care of first. But it was fun looking at the appliances, anyway, heh. And if the fridge does konk out before then, it'll be easy to go an pick one out from the scratch and dent place! Okay, I'll post my plan for this week next. Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend!
