Guest guest
Today was a sculpt day and P90 Circuit 3-4 was on the agenda (as usual these days) but my hips and quads were really sore yesterday from two days worth of many lunges and squats (between Circuit 3-4 Tuesday and Debbie Rocker's Walking for Weight Loss yesterday) and I decided I'd be better off not working them again today. I thought about just fast forwarding through the squats and lunges on Circuit 3-4 but decided I wanted a different experience altogether so I went with Tamilee Webb's I Want Those Arms Workout 2 and I Want Those Abs Workout 1. I haven't done either of these in a looong time and this dvd is one of my favorites for short but effective body part workouts. I am very pleased to say too that Arms Workout 2 (which is harder than Workout 1) was actually not enough for me with the weights I have! I remember working up to this and thinking I'd never get through it (or even to it because Workout 1 was so hard fo rme). I definitely need 12 and 15 pound dumbbells. Concentration curls with 10 pounds, with the amount of reps she does anyway (12, 12 and then 8) were too easy! Wow! I went lower on overhead presses (8s) because of my shoulders but could try 10s next time. I also did the tricep dips with my legs straight instead of bent (as she shows them). Did all 12, then 7 out of 12 (probably could have pushed out more but let myself wimp out!), then all 8. She suggests putting weights in your lap for great resistance, would that be more challenging than putting your legs out straight? I didn't hardly even feel the one arm tricep pushups either (2 arms are still a killer though but they're not in this video). All the dips with Tony are obviously doing me some good! I've mostly worked my abs very inconsistently up until my ongoing P90 experience so Abs Workout 1 was still a big challenge for me but I got through all the reps of all the exercises which represents a huge change in itself! It was very exciting to finish it! My abs were totally quivering for quite a while and I still feel them now (an hour later). It will be interesting to see how Ab Ripper 200 goes tomorrow (possibly too much?). Tomorrow is P90 Cardio 3-4, including Ab Ripper 200. I'm going scrapbooking this weekend with my best friend of over 20 years and might try to get a cardio workout in at the very tiny fitness center at the hotel on Saturday (they have treadmills and an elliptical or 2 plus bikes) but I might just take both Saturday and Sunday off. I'm packing my workout clothes just in case I do it. I did last time we were there but another friend, who likes to workout, was with us and she's not going this time and BFF (best friend forever, she loves that acronym and I think it is dorky but I'm using it anyway because she is) probably won't so I'll have less motivation to get my own butt over there (then again, I weigh in tomorrow morning before we go too so that might be motivation enough although my eating has been excellent this week in terms of the mindless snacking, I'll report on how I've managed that in another post later).
