...... in a word "Blech!" I really didn't like this workout at all. The two redeeming qualities of it -1) it is filmed outdoors in Sedona, Arizona and 2) it didn't hurt my back. The bad things - it was very repetitive ('s workouts look like creative choreography compared to this one!!!) and boring and the intensity just wasn't there. I can live w/ some repetition if I can get some intensity going and I really am searching for more low impact options that provide a good exertion level. This one was not it. 's more recent in home walking workouts are MUCH better - there is more intensity and less repetition - even though only has a handful of moves, she manages to make it feel less repetitious than this one! Debbie Rocker herself is okay - she talks a lot, but it is all motivational stuff so

it isn't bad. In this particular workout there are two walking segments and two toning segments. The walking segments are longer, the toning shorter (probably 10 min or less for each section). She uses light weights in the toning segments (I did not use weights at all for lower body and only picked them up for upper). She recommends no more than 3 lbs, which, even for me in an unconditioned state is too light for the upper body exercises that I did - bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, rows, some overhead presses. The lower body exercises were squats, curtsey lunges and side lunges - these worked for me well w/out weights and didn't strain my back at all. I think this one is going into the "FSOT" (For Sale or Trade - thanks Beth!! :)) pile - it just isn't my cup of tea.

I have Debbie's other indoor walking workout - Walking for Weight Loss. I know I did it a long time ago, but I don't remember much about it. I'm sort of afraid to try it again b/c I hate wasting my time - which is how I felt about this morning's workout. Oh well - a lousy workout is better than none and the only thing worse than a lousy workout is one that hurts my back - so I give today's workout a C- - at least I moved and at least my back is okay!

Both of Debbie's workouts come w/ audio walking CDs. I wonder if I should try them on the Treadmill? Anyone use them? I may, and if I hate them I can always switch to my own music.

Tonight I may squeeze in some Pilates. Tomorrow I was planning on just a Pilates day or a Classical Stretch day, but I may want to fit in a 2 mile workout just so I can up my cardio for the week. We'll see.

Hope everyone has a good day and better workout than me! :)

Take care,

Donna
