Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thanks to Sally and Natasa who suggested yoga awhile back. We have been doing yoga with Eddie for a few weeks using a " Yoga for Kids (3) " and he has been really enjoying it. I am sure it has helped with balance and coordination. He's certainly taken to practicing and showing off his balancing and moves since we started. I also think it is helping with retained reflexes because the other night he put his head back when he had his hair washed :-)!! This might sound trivial but he has always had trouble putting his head back. I mentioned this on the INPP course (exercises for retained reflexes) and also mentioned that I had always had the same problem - they got me up and demonstrated that I still had a problem (I arched my back). The INPP course exercises aren't very enticing - great for older children but for a 4 year old it is really difficult to get them to do them very slowly and methodically as required. So I am very pleased with the yoga. It also has some very simple breathing exercises which was what we also wanted to do. I liked the DVD - it's not too long and it's quite fun pretending to be a tree and a monkey and a dog etc. I don't want to oversell it though. But it is working for us and Eddie asks to do it :-) It's funny our podiatrist also suggested yoga recently. Best wishes, Sandy
