Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Sorry I was MIA over the weekend - just busy.... Saturday I took off - but I did stretch throughout the day, I'm finding brief periods of stretch throughout the day are very helpful for my back - especially when doing things that stress is out (like housework, prolonged sitting/computer use, etc.) Sunday - Back at it - I did Sansone's 3 mile power walk (the one in the pink cover). This is the one where Kay leads the 2nd mile and does it at a 12 mph pace (I love that pace for a - I'm looking fwd to her new 5 mile walk due out in Dec that will be all at a 12 mph pace). After I did Rael Pilates System 17 (library borrow) again. I really like this Pilates practice - it is a bit more modified than some I have, but he does more reps also a good focus on elongation and proper form. Monday - 15 min on the bike, 40-ish on the TM (I did 4 miles - running and walking). Then I did Peggy Cappy's Back Care Basics (another library borrow). I couldn't do it all - but I did do restorative poses, leg and back stretches and leg and back stretches on the side (focuses in more on the quads/hip flexors, plus some work on all 4's doing cat/cow). I like this DVD quite a bit for idea of different exercises to do to help relieve back pain/tightness. It works great after a cardio session. However, it is very slow moving, so it makes it hard for me to do when I'm running out of time in the morning. But, I do have some good ideas for stretches to incorporate into my daily routines. I'm finding that doing little bits here and there when I can are very helpful. This one is due back at the library tomorrow - but I'll check it out again at some point. Tomorrow I plan to do a longer PIlates sessions - thinking I'll do Rael Pilates System 27 - then perhaps some more stretching..... Hope everyone has a good day!Donna
